My spouse & small children r not accompanying in my FSW Application. My timeline at LH side.. my next step is DM & PPR..

I May land at August in Canada.. After that only planning to sponsor family. I thought sponsoring will take less time.

All our medical expire March'2016..

Pls tell can I try to get Visa for family now itself.. Or I'll land, establish & then sponsor & take my family.. Pls suggest friends.

Have you already included them in ur app as non accompanying dependents ? if not you cannot sponsor them in future.
Yes it is better to sponsor ur family now itself. Family class sponsorship will not take less time in comparison to adding them now.
You have to show more proof of funds now and also carry the fund with you while landing.

You should email CIC right away. Unlike Family sponsorship they respond to ur emails immediately.

16 months is the posted timeline. presently few 2013 applicants are waiting. that's more than 24 months for few folks.
If you are really lucky you will be able to finish ur process in 10 months.
Also you wont be able to sponsor them immediately. There are few docs you require like Option c and Notice of Assessment which you will get only after you file ur taxes which will be next year ?! Also u have to come here and find a job which will also take time ?!. Can u be away from ur family for that long.
Sponsorship is paper application and to be submitted in Canada but ur spouse has to sign.
You also have to prove ur relationship with lots of supporting docs. Having children together does not automatically prove u r in a genuine relationship as per cic. Few cases with children have also been rejected.

Days will not go fine when you are stuck waiting for PR. even if ur family comes here in TRV - visitors visa ( 99% possibility of rejection ) , they will not have health insurance, cannot go to school or work.

If you can include them now, it is highly recommended you do so. It will take 3-4 additional months.

This confirms receipt of your email to the New Delhi visa office. We will reply only if your message meets the criteria on

This is a standard auto-reply confirming that they have received you email. From my previous experience and based on the dates on the notes that I ordered, they generally reply back within 3-7 days of receiving the email. So, hang in there. you should get a reply back from them regarding this.

CIC guidelines say that you have to submit PCC for each "country" where you have resided for more than 6 months, not for each city or state. So dont worry, PCC from kanpur is all you need.

PCC should be from the current city of residence.

I did inform my tax accountant to change it however he did not. I presume that since he has not met my wife (as she is yet to get her visa) he has not changed it. If your wife is already there, then I think it may make sense to update the status and this way gain tax credits.

Thanks buddy for letting me know. I will change it online and BTW- I applied for MP enquiry and it's almost a week now; was told that it could take up to 4 weeks;even that's so slow
