I applied for work permit on sep 4, 2014. I got an offer for post doc position in University of Alberta. Could anyone guide me when can i expect my first intimation. I need to join there by Nov 1st, 2014. I'm terribly worried by the delay.

I opened immigration website to check the status. I used my wife last name which was her last name before marriage and it opened the file which showed me IP. But today I tried to open with same last name it didn't open. But tried with last name as of mine it opened up. What does this mean ?
