I'm new here and there are 133 pages to read :/

My husband is a Canadian Citizen. We are both living in Saudi Arabia after getting married. I am from Delhi and want to apply for immigration in the next 1 month.

We have filled out most of the forms and are in process of gathering all our "relationship evidence"

Where do get medicals and police clearance, here in Saudi or in Delhi?

The Canadian Website is VERY CONFUSING! Can someone please guide me what to do! like actual steps!

My timeline is very similar to yours, March applicant, April File Transfer date. I have not heard from NDVO as well. It could be 2-4 months we could be getting Visas! Good Luck with your application.

hello everyone
i have applied for my spouse visa in march 2014 ( in canada) and after getting the sponsor eligibilty mail , my file is transferred to new delhi office in april 02,2014 and on april 10, 2014 i am getting the mail from delhi office for the submission of landing fee slip copy and police verification record if u stayed outside india..after that i am not getting anything else from delhi office till date and my application status is application recieved ( when we r checking through online on cic website). so my question is that is there anyone in the same slot.or anyone getting passport request .like i am not getting any passsport request etc from delhi office...
so please share u r story if u r applied in march also....it will great help..

Both the sponsor and the spouse/partner can live in a foreign country while applying for Canadian spousal sponsorship. You will need to prove that you both intend to live in Canada.
Is this for Permenant residents card holder also..
cuz we have plan live together couple of month after sponsorship approval....plz reply...

yes PR card holders also stay in India during the process. ..there are lots of my forum members who are here on Nov 2013th...but in this case you will submit lots of proofs...just make sure that this thing didn't effects ur pr card..

If you are a PR holder then you should be in Canada while you sponsoring your spouse. This will effect your application and if you are citizen then you can be out of country to sponsor your spouse but you need to prove that you have intention to settle in canada once your spouse gets visa

They have not requested PPR for 2014 , if you are a march applicant i fear it will be another 3-4 months till you hear anything . NDVO have just started with nov 2013 application . Be patient , we all are in the same boat !

As per their information only citizens can stay out of country during spousal application and citizens also have to demonstrate their willingness to return to canada.

Yeah.. even i read there.. Nov last week going on, hopefully 2014 gets started soon.

Do we have an option to submit medicals later? or is it mandatory with the application in the first place?
Also, I will complete 6 months in Saudi Arabia AFTER I submit my application. Will they ask me later to get a Police check?
