Hello Everyone!

I got married in February, 2014 and my husband is a PR residing in Canada. He applied for spousal sponsorship on April 10th, 2014. However, he has not received any file number yet! :o

I really need all your help with this... Does it take this long after applying to receive the file number? Or is there something that's going wrong in our case??

Will the call center people be able to help us out with this inquiry??

Hello Harini,

These days CIC is taking 55 days days to process the AOR and the file number. In your case, I can see that the duration has already passed. I would suggest you to contact call center.

I don't think anyone has. I was thinking to do, but my lawyer asked me to wait till Aug.

Ok, if you do anytime please let me know.

CIC updated the Processing time and India still remains at 13 months. :(

Hello, CIC is taking lot of time these days..55 days is the official number.

It would help if you call, they would check if you are in the system. you can only call from within canada, so ask your husband to do it. If you are in the system, they would tell you what is going on.

We'd be celebrating if it comes down to anything less than 13 months... ;D

How come couple of 2014 applicants got passport request as per spreadsheet?!!

I read somewhere that CIC is planning to "fast-track" the process and have a decision made within 6 months :o... Is there any truth to this?

Thanks

Crazy!!! I remember when I sent the application package for my spouse the online wait was 33 days and it kept jumping each week and it was at 56 days when I got my AOR and SA.
