If he doesnt have a last name, then his first name was submitted as last name.This is done because papers need a last name to be valid. So first name they leave blank which shows as "NULL"
meaning none/blank and then last name shows up on the documents.
Hope that made sense!!

My case is slightly different here, because I am from Nepal, however my application is being processed at Delhi. I do see something changed in the status which makes a little hyper, please bare with me. I see the update as below.

We received your application for permanent residence on May 29, 2014.

We started processing your application on November 20, 2014.

Medical results have been received.
Should this also talk about about Police Clearance because that was sent to them a month ago??

You are lucky brother at least they started your application in process...many of the application of us still with dust on it and resting :[

My interview was on 25 nov interviewer told me to get the medical done and send the passport with the receipt of medical through mail. I guess i will get remedical letter soon

dont worry u will get re-medical letter soon,, but doctor will send re-medical by e-mail they don't give us a paper work,,,,,

Thank you all for your wishes. I felt mine were resting at their desk too until this Monday, but I guess they working on May files, lets hope for the best and be positive.

they just say about AR/MR
IP/DM on Ecas

welcome here dear and where u sent ur file like mississauga,ottawa ?
and they take 44-69 days approx so i wish u get ur file number in few days
once ur application received ur file will be completed in 6-8 months as like recent time
if ur case is straight forward don't worry u will get visa in this time
