I think after MP enquiry they suddenly remembered you out of blue and scheduled interview.
Interview are schedule usually 1 or 1.5 months ahead. You will receive email/letter shortly.

Ohk. So i have some update .my mp's secretary just called me. He said my husband has been scheduled for interview for april 13. Neither me nor my husband ever recieved any email from ndvo. (i check emails almost every hour ).

So basically ndvo never told us about the date and my mp's secretary is going to call them just now and ask thhem to send my husband yhe details.

Well. Evrythn set aside now. Thank god we got to know this atleast before it was too late.

Ppl plz push ur mp's to enquire for u . i have emailed 2 mp's almost every week and now i have the info for my husband. Good luck guys. I will keep u posted with any other news.

Also try other MP from same party. Let them know you are approaching her as your MP office is still setting up and their staff is not familar with the process.

I called my MP from the region and his secretary responded. She said she does not know much about these cases but will reply me. I send him email as well but he has not responded yet. Should i be emailing him again explaining him how the other MPs are doing?

Second off I wanted to let everyone know that the 17 month begins after the file reaches NDVO, my MP found out from the Ministry of Immigration today. The website is very mis-leading showing 17 which includes assessment of sponsor - this is clearly incorrect

Goodluck to everyone else and please continue to push your local MP's - eat there brains out

unfortunately even MP office is power less. They can only do the enquiry.
Persistently making enquiry makes the difference. But you lose 3-4 months doing this.

Can some senior members guide me with regards to how long the below checks take? My MP enquired and informed me of the following :

"Medical and eligibility checks for the file have passed and currently they are performing the criminality check. However, as of today, they have not begun the security check portion of the file."

My questions are:

1) If eligibility has been passed does that mean now I dont have to worry about interview?
2) How long does the criminality and security portion take?

I am December 2014 Applicant . i am sponsering my wife and her medical is expired but still no remidcal request .

I have applied Notes , and below is the remark upadted on 18th Nov 2015 .
" Docs on the file is reviewed . Sponsors info including employment letter reviewed . Interviewed to be scheduled "

will it be interview of me or my wife ?

Congrats. Looks like 20 mnths and 17 months of duration is calculated from the day file is reached to NDVO is correct as per consultant. All the best.

Eligibility passed = no interview required

Security/criminality checks all vary from case-to-case, this could be done in weeks or sometimes in months, all depending on travel history, docs, etc.

Bottom line there is no exact timeline for checks.
