Indeed, but on a TRV
Dear all

I got my TRV with a 10 year validity.
Am indeed grateful to each of you participants here - I got to learn a lot about the process and also found resolutions as and when I had issues with the processing of my PR Visa.

Just to help you further, I applied for TRV last Monday (04th of May, 2015) at VFS, Bangalore.
The passport was dispatched to the VFS yesterday (12th of May ) and was ready for collection today (13th of May 2015)
As I am an Indian citizen, 4 forms needed to be filled and only one form had a bar code, which was generated online.

All the forms were filled online. Print outs were taken of these filled forms. Print outs were taken on non glossy Bond paper.
Along with the above 4 forms, the other papers that were submitted personally by me at VFS, Bangalore were:

1. Husbands employment details
2. His finance papers - Bank statements
3. An invitation letter from him, which contained his home address and a request to the immigration to grant me a TRV.
4. Our marriage certificate
5. My finance and employment details.
6. DD is not accepted, they collect TRV fees at the VFS. The actual fee is 4950 + Service tax and SMS charges = 5825.
7. Along with the above 4 forms, we also have to submit a consent form (mandatory), which is available on the Canadian website.
8. The passport. Kindly carry all the passports (expired ones too)
9. If you have a travel history, kindly photocopy the earlier VISA stamped pages and submit them too.
10. 2 pictures according to the specifications on the website.

It was a very smooth process. The guys at the VFS, Bangalore were quite knowledgeable and the crowd was not much .
The whole application submission took me 20-25 minutes.
They give you a receipt/acknowledgement as soon as the papers are accepted with a Tracking ID number and website to check.

Since I had requested for SMS facility, I was informed on the same day promptly at 10.30pm (IST) that my papers are forwarded for processing. An E-Mail was sent too.

Today (13th May), when my passport was ready for collection, I had to go with a photocopy of ID proof (PAN card I gave) between 2-4pm
Any queries, Kindly ask.

Guys, am planning to join my husband - BuggleBoy soon.
Once again, thanks a lot for the unconditional understanding and support !!
God bless you all with the VISA soon. I shall keep in touch as long as I can .
I haven't yet got the PR Visa, so, am still a part of each of you. I shall sign the new petition right away !!

Affectionately
Soni (Deep Son)

Congrats! That is really a great news!

I should also give it a try....tired of this wait now :(
I think so Fiza. You too have been waiting for over a year and all it requires is a proper statement of documents etc., and a letter where in you and your husband explicitly mention that "you both would honor and respect the tourist visa and not do anything that would jeopardize your PR application". I think with this they should be convinced. Talk to your husband and try this route too as we still don't know when they would call for our PPR.

It's a shame and disgust dealing with NDVO for PR under family reunification... only tall talk/statements on their site.

I will still be active on this forum :)

Of course buddy, I pray and wish that we all get our PR visas ASAP. That's something that my wife still needs to get;for now it's only TRV that she has received.

To your questions - my wife (deep son) has answered in detail to the process. Please read them at your convenience and trust that answers your concerns. Good Luck!

Thanks Deep Son and Buggleboy, now I wish I had applied for my wife's TRV through VFS. I applied online and after 2 weeks still there is no update, I thought it would be faster online as otherwise I would have had to mail in invitation letter etc. to India

IF I GET MY PR CAN I TAKE MY BABY ALONG WITH ME WITH VISITOR VISA.. DO THEY GRANT VISITOR VISA TO CHILDREN??

Hi Angel 2812,

I assume your baby was not born in Canada since you ask for visitor visa. In such a case you must inform CIC along with birth certificate & other req docs if any. and provide updated forms to include your baby in ur PR application. The above scenario should not happen i.e. you get PR and bringing ur baby in visitor visa. If you fail to update ur application, you can never sponsor ur baby later.
You can email CIC right away and they will provide you the list of forms and proof required.

Hi everyone,

Has anyone applied for visitor visa online recently ? Can you please advise on how long does it take ? I was trying to find processing times but outside of canada it does not seem show timing for online applications.

Thanks in advance

I don't think there is separate link for online application processing time. It shows 6 days for New Delhi. Hope you get it soon.

I would suggest following up with your MP. Usually MP reply doesn't take that long. They come back very next day....Surprised on why its taking long for you.

I didn't mention you since I knew your status :). You are active on this forum :)
I went today again to the MP's office(in person) and as usual her assistant seems to have another excuse. Her answer was "There is no new update. They haven't given any new updates yet" and that prompted me to ask "so what is the old update you have for me"? She said that she is in the middle of something and will inform me by phone call.

I am just getting fed up with this MP and her entourage. Not sure if it's worth my time to pursue this or wait until 16 months (6 more months from today) and then submit a fresh request to this god forsaken MP. Such poor service everywhere. It's over 4 weeks that she has not updated with anything. Need to post it on social media perhaps to wake the MP up :)
