Here is a link which explains about Medical Reassessments.

My understanding is that if medicals was done within last 15 months, there is a chance CIC medical officer will evaluate the medical file again and re issue a new medical certificate which is valid for more time.

There is a flow chart too.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/medic/assess/cert.asp
Yeah...interesting Innosense....so that means if everything else is done and its only Medicals left, and they are nearing one year expiry, they can ask for a reassessment internally from the embassy Medical Officer and extend it, if it less than 15 months....

Hi I sent my file on November 27 2014 and CIC got it on Dec 2nd 2014. Got file # on Feb 14th 2015 and SA on March 17th 2015. Later on April 16th 2015 got email from New Delhi CIC Visa Office as they have got the file and to pay the Landing fee and also PCC if not submitted. My wife called CIC as she is on visit visa for couple of months with me in Canada. They said they have got the payment and the PCC along with the file and nothing to be submitted as of now. Thats what they have on their end, waiting to hear from NDVO of any updates on the file. Waiting waiting and waiting for them to update something on the file. It still show received file on Dec 02 2014 on the CIC site as of now. Please update anything else that you have known about which month files is NDVO processing in India as of today ?

And few imp questions ;

- is there any new rule regarding the addition of spouse name in sponsor's or applicant's passport ?

- what is the minimum period sponsor is supposed to spend in Canada after landing there for the first time.
- And after how much TIME(minimum period asked in above line) he/she can come back to India get married, go back to Canada and apply/sponsor for his/her spouse in India.

kandelbsn ,
Your is fast bcus you are Nepali Citizen application processed through NVDO.
For Indian Citizen @ NVDO line is different altogether.
For majority NVDO is processing July-Aug applications.
Only less than 1% cases (special cases) its processed faster than this.
NDVO currently processing July 2014 applicants. from more than 2 months. very very slow processing for Indian citizens at new delhi visa office.

There are no rules apart from the ones described in the document list and CIC website, e.g., submit your marriage certificate, completed application forms etc. Everything else is just our own initiative to show that our relationship is genuine. You will see people telling you that you MUST do this, MUST do that, otherwise CIC will reject etc., and actually its not true. But, you should submit as much evidence as you think is necessary, based on your case. This includes: a) spending reasonable amount of time with your partner, either in India or anywhere else in the world (e.g., go on honeymoon). b) submit your pics you took together during your relation (e..g, during honeymoon, or any vacations you took etc.), c) adding your partner's name to passport, d) love letters, emails, phone logs, chats etc. e) etc. etc. etc.

As you can see, its more about proving your relation the best way you can, not about following a rule book.

Hi there
How did you get the idea that PCC expires ? PCC never expires. I have not read anything like this in this forum or heard elsewhere. Medical is valid for a year which is stated in CIC website. But most often medicals will be extended. By proactively doing ur re medicals and extending its validity, you are giving cic more time to screw ur app. Better to wait till u get remedical request.
Those who have upcoming interviews can do remedicals to save time as most often they are asked to do it.

Even the rules for PCC has been modified recently

"For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country."
Thats not true PCC actually expires after 3 months....but they rarely ask for PCC again. I know this because when my bhabi came to Canada not even a year ago she went to her interview and got remedical done without request so she could save some time she passed the interview so they said you got your medical done but your PCC is expired so she had to get that done and then they issued her visa. The six month PCC thing is not new when my brother-inlaw came 8 years ago it was same, my sister in law came 5 years ago it was the same it was the same when my bhabi came like a year ago so.....in short they do find ways to screw you up lol it took them two months after that to issue her visa so you could take a chance by not doing the PCC bcz most likely they wont ask for it but its not for sure.

NVDO started processing July application from Jan 2015. They havent finished half of the application from July. Now they have started few of Aug. After spending 4 months if they cant finish July application I think there is seriously something wrong. We need to ask for some investigation of whats going on in NVDO.

PCC does not expire actually. It has a validity period of 6 months (used to be 3 months, now changed I guess) for CIC. This means that when you submit your application, your PCC should be not older than 6 months. It does not mean that you should submit new PCC every 6 months like medicals. As long as your PCC was valid when you applied, CIC will not ask again for PCC (assuming they didn't lose it somehow).

Maybe the expiry is 6 months....I dont suggest sending PCC again unless they ask for it.....I am only saying they can ask for it again is because my bhabi was asked for it again during her interview they said the previous one had expired I dont know maybe they lost it thats why they asked for it again who knows what they do

On a positive note, what if interview is waived for u guys. Hence no interview letter. Hope u get good news in notes.
