Re-Meds were done today and the status changed to In-Process!!!
Wonder how much longer is the wait now, will they meet the 15 month timeline??

hey congratss. ..
welcome to the IP group. ..I m happy dat one by one all august applicants got IP. ..

don't know buddy. ..about 15 months time frame. ...but mine 13 months will b complete in 10 days so 2 more months left. ..

I can't be surprised if before 15 months they increased timeline to 18 months. ..I think we 2013 applicants hv alott bad luck. ..

I'm from India, I recently became PR under CEC.

My girlfriend lives in India and our marriage will happen next year mid. Meanwhile, I am going to India for our engagement in a month and we are looking to do our court marriage along with the engagement as I can start the PR process for her in parallel. Is it acceptable by CIC and NDVO to sponsor spouse PR with only court marriage certificate (without traditional marriage proof)? I know CIC looks for wedding photographs which I would not be having. Would this be a concern?

Please help

It could be a concern if you end up in having an interview as Indian visa officers who conduct interviews are bit traditional and Neanderthal thinking.... but if you have no choice and have to do court marriage then have your family members and hers be present (if both parents are present then cave dwelling visa officers would not question you). But if you cannot have them then provide plenty of proof that this relationship is genuine by providing lots of proof of communication; photos; trips taken together; testimonials from friends and relatives; convincing reason as to why your family and her family could not participate in court wedding and so on...

Hi Guys

My wife's medicals expire at the end of the month. The application has been in process since end of August but we haven't received any remedical request. Should I email the visa office and tell them. I am concerned my app may get dragged out. This is for the New Delhi visa office.

now you are in IP and if u received remedical then its delay ur case for so many weeks. ..
so better is used all the things like email, , MP enquiry, , CSE. ..
gud luck

find your local MP from this link

http://www.parl.gc.ca/Parlinfo/Compilations/HouseofCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC

make an appointment and sponsor needs to sign some forms giving permission to dere MP to access your personal records..some MPs send forms by email and some want person to visit office.

Firstly, thank you much for taking your time to respond.

Yes, both our parents will be present for the court marriage. Both families do not want the girl to stay alone after the wedding. I may have to make a return to India for a year or so until the processing is done for her if I cannot process her PR now. I do have communication logs, photos not too many (as I have lived here for 3 years), no trips and definitely some handful of gifts proof available with me. I understand this is tricky, so any more advise or tips you could offer on this will really help.

hi hols do u have any travel history ?if have which country because I am also stuck in background check

Hi yes, my husband lived in Dubai for 9 months and also he has a US visitors visa when he was in Canada - so we went down to the US like 30 or so times to do grocery shopping, get gas, do shopping etc. so it seems to have delayed everything while they check up on that...

yes its a big concern...but W2E is right. ..collects all proofs...
there is a forum member neha_anticivic..dere also a simple wedding just few people like family members n just close friends. .but they didn't hv an interview. ..dere are just wait for DM. ..

so my suggestion is done a court marriege where all the family members present. ..go for lots of places...send them all the pics...and submit ur file. ..and give them reason like so n so time next year we will b married in a traditional way...
gud luck

I have a feeling all the remainder of Aug 2013 applicants will be cleared with visa by Oct end.
All the best!!
