NEW DELHI - 2013 APPLICANTS.

I got IP on 11th July, exact after 1 month wait of my ADR request mail. My medicals were done on 16th of Aug 2013, will be expiring nearly in a months time, Now i am worried as they have not changed my status to DM. I really don't want to go into the process of re-medicals as its another few months waste of time. Really worked up now.

why are you worried. ..don't worry you will never go into the remedical process. ..in the end of this month ur passport in ur hands..

Your post is much appreciated, thanks for letting us know about your status. Today many applicants have received good news , I am sure we all must be very excited after today's developments. It seemed to be a very dry week otherwise. However, I am still not convinced that my file is going 'in process' soon. I cannot rule out an ADR at this point.
Initially, I thought my case was straightforward (We had an orthodox punjabi marriage (arranged), not too many guests though, around 300). But now I think my file may have red flags, however, not sure what they may consider as a flag : : :?

1. I spent almost 3 years outside Canada after becoming PR.
2. After marriage we went to Dubai where I was working, stayed there for 1 year before going back to India. Since, I was on the verge of loosing the Canadian PR, so I finally decided to move to Canada.
3. We submitted around 60-70 pics.
4. Didn't submit any phone bills.
5. Didn't change wife's surname. Her passport is from Dubai. Both our passports have each other's name.
6. I am from Punjab, could this be a red flag?

I don't know which of the above could be a problem.

Bud, I understand what you are going through. My case was straight forward as well but looking at all IP's around me, I would brood every day and make up fictitious red flags in my case as well. I would just go through all pics I had submitted and analyze if VO can see all the large crowd etc. But at the end of the day its just paranoia. Dont stress too much, even my wife did not change her name as well.

congratss. ..but I think you are October applicant. .bcoz u send ur application in end of Oct. .maybe I m wrong what ur ecas status shows. ..?

I sent it via Canada Post in Oct, i thought they should be doing it according to application received in CIC-Miss..

Reg flags like- previous relationship,, huge age difference,, parents not present,, simple marriege without parents etc list is so long in VO's point of view. ..

being from punjab does necessarily end up in interview or delay but they tend to be suspicious of applications from punjab (especially if there was a quick wedding with no parents present; marrying cousins) and tend to check thoroughly..but as you see other applicants like chacha chaudhary he is also from punjab even I m also...

In my point of view ur marriege is same like other applicants but as you mention you didn't submit phone bills etc so maybe they asked for ADR but as you say you guys together in Dubai so I think this is ur solid point. ..

If you don't submit your medical in the beginning and they request it afterwards, does it mean that they have opened your file and it's in process?

Congratulations for DMs ... Can someone tell me how can i request passport back from NDVO? And is it wise to apply for a visitor Visa in the meantime as its my birthday next month and I want my husband to be here in Canada with me?? Just wondering...

You can try for visitor visa. Many were not successful Your application would come for IP DM shortly. Play this waiting game with confidence.

It's our first marriage and we are 4 years apart as far as the age is concerned. We share same religious beliefs and the marriage was arranged by our parents. I didn't submit the phone bills as I was calling via a calling card from Canada on a pre-paid mobile number in punjab. I hope it doesn't bring an ADR for me.
And I am skeptical that our stay in Dubai may elongate the processing time due to the background checks. There's a lot of red-tapism involved. I remember how we struggled to get a PCC from Dubai.
