HI Forum members

Have a general question. My wife is on Delhi. Whats the trend on getting back passport in Delhi. Do they call you to pick up the passport or mail it?

Someone will call your wife and ask her to confirm her details. If they realise she is local to Delhi, they may even ask when can she come and pick up the PP herself? I would recommend she do that as otherwise if she ask them to send it by registered post, you are looking at another 15 days delay

Congrats to all who got IP and DM!!!

Thanks Andrew, We hope when it happens they ask us to pick it up as she has picked the passport once in December too as we had to travel.

Hi All,
I have a question for which I don't seem to find a good answer else where.
As per my understanding, the upfront medical results are valid only for a period of 9 months.
Now the file processing time itself takes almost the same amount of time or longer. Hence, the probability of one's medical tests being outdated are very high.
Does the visa office consider the original tests for evaluation? If not, How should one handle this situation. Wait for letter from visa office requesting to undergo another medical test? Won't that delay the process further?
Is there a provision to send a new set of medicals before they ask for a retest?

Please advise.

PS: Past experiences, suggestions from representatives/ advisers appreciated.

Thanks,
RM

HI RM

So as per the post I have reading here, It depends on each file. Your medical expiry is one year from the date.

If the case is straight forward with all the checks done and your medical is about to expire they will call you to confirm if you can fly before the expiry and in those cases they sometimes also extend the expiry by one or 2 weeks.
If the officer thinks that it might take some more time then then they contact you and ask you for re medical. And yes that seems to delay the process for some time.

But again it all depends on case and officer and its really hard to make a trend of the process looking at how they work.
