I think the past 2 weeks have gone according to a message board poster that said things would slow down until May 25th and pick up again afterwards. He obviously had some inside information.

They normally update the system once in a week, mostly on Tuesdays...but NDVO is unpredictable...sometimes saturday or monday too they update

They updated my wife's status to "in process" on Friday, called her on Saturday to confirm date of birth and ask if she can travel before June 8, then called again on Monday and asked he to pick up her passport. So they do work and make updates on weekends.

This is so frustrating, had enough of this wait, donno what this stupid ppls are doing, if only I had a chance to fire them all and hired some good staff who can be a little quicker >:( >:( >:(

Hey,

I will file PR of my wife by first week of june. Can i apply for her work permit after that? If yes, do they give work permit or reject mostly like they do in case of visitor visa?

If you file for spousal visa then do not apply for any other kind of visa, as you already know that rejection rate for visitor visa is 99%, same with work permit (if you have already applied for spousal visa). Doing so will complicate your case.

Hey guys, I have a question.. I see that many times here people get asked by the visa office if they can travel before a certain date which is usually around the time their medicals expire.
What if I can't travel before that date? Has anyone told the visa office that they are not ready to travel to Canada before their med expiry date? What happens then? Do we have to go through the entire PR application process again?

If you say no, they will return your passport and ask you to do re-medicals. After re-doing your medicals, you have to send them (along with your passport) back to NDVO (this process will take approximately 1 month for them to receive your medicals and register them), then they will stamp the visa in your passport and return it to you. The expiry date on the visa will be the same as the expiry date on your new medicals.

The re-medical thingis not done that quickly.

Several posters on this board have sent back their remedicals and not received passport for 2 months.

Guys...Question to those who did their re-medicals...

Did u all send NDVO a physical or e-mail copy of your receipts or just let the diagnostics send the report directly?
