hi ,

My husband is canadia citizen and we have filed our case in aug, 2013.
Application received to CIC on 14 aug,2013
Sponserhip approved and file sent to delhi on 6 sept,2013.
My application status is still Application recieved and even i didnot get the PRP request . I want to know what could be the reason for the same. My medical is also going to expire on 1 st june, so worried abt that my ecas is still at first step.

Don't worry there are so many people with no passport request , in most cases they extended medicals by one month . Ask your husband to do MP inquiry , you will get a clear picture .

Dear fellow applicants, i read this forum off and on but its disappointing to see some ppl are waiting for 9 months or more. I applied in october and my file transferred in november. passport was requested on january 17. i recently applied for gcms notes and it said medical passed. nothing else has started. I saw in the excel sheet that some ppl who applied in october got ppr in november itself. Is ndvo issuing visa based on PPR date or application received date? I am really losing valuable time with this wait. Can anyone who has been analyzing the forums or other sources tell me when can i expect the visa? really appreciate the guidance.
Thanks
Mrs.Janmuk

In your notes didn't you see any notes written about the eligibility check? In the last pages there are notes as well..read that one, you will get more clarity.

it takes almost a year to get visa but if you are one the most luckiest ones you might get it in 10 months....for ppr it takes a month to get it. Did they get your email address wrong? check your notes. I applied for notes four times and they never touched my file until Feb 2014 ...9 months gap ....you will be surprised in my case notes showed correct email address but never got a request for passport till now.... Eventually they will ask for your passport and this does not delay your process. Thank god that you were not one of those 2012 applicants where they are still waiting for visa for more than 19 months (due to strike their applications were put in the basement and never touched for a long time).

I was in touch with lawyer in canada ( retired immigration officer ) , he once told me every visa officer has to keep in mind that applicants can also appeal against their decision which in return add huge cost to Canadian government and making a Canadian citizen (sponsor) because of their false judgement . So unless any officer is sure of fraud , they don't refuse . It's only recently that all applicants are given opportunity to explain why they should not be refused . ( also called fairness lette ) . So procedure is there which we all have to follow but it's become so complicated because of so many fraud cases . I spent 10 years in canada and probably over 100 times I heard that spouse was waiting at the Vancouver airport and whole other half landed in Toronto . In Vancouver there's this desi radio station and it will reported on air every time this happens .
But I feel rather than putting everybody to this suffering , there should be better system to detect fraud .

yes they should be able to detect fraud easily but that requires creative solutions and co-ordination among various departments ..since when did the governments had any of those? even if they detect frauds it is the legal system that drags the whole process...once a visa is rejected because they suspect it is a fraud case, the hearing process takes about to two years then the appeal takes over if the visa is denied then it goes on for many years...to a minimum they could hire more visa officers and speed up the process (one case I have known had to wait for a year then they denied his visa..if they suspected a fraud he should have moved to the top of the list had his interview in 3 months and then denied him) and more transparency (my passport was not requested at all...there were no means to find out... except for emails...why my passport was not requested)...compared to other countries (like afghanistan, pakistan and some african countries) the processing time is much faster than others...

It's too much pressure to handle , it's like putting on hold during phone call for one year . I was in canada for long time , came back to India so I can have my family members part of the wedding too . And also I thought it takes less time if we apply in India than within canada . But stupid strike had to happen at this time making this longer wait . Lived in Canadian weather luxuries for 10 years and now soaring heat in India . Since I spent time in canada , there are even more inquiries and certificates required . Took me 5 months just to police clearance from Canadian police . It's just torture
