Right now I am looking, looks like KLM or Nippon Airlines (Japan Airlines), but I'm still looking for a flight with only 1 stop and shortest possible layover, and good price ;D

I'm also in Alberta. I guess you're in Calgary?

My suggestion: Delhi to Frankfurt to Calgary.

Flew it a couple of years back and it was excellent all around.

The search function on this board is very hard to use.

I remember reading a templated letter someone had put together in email format to send MP and cannot find it now. Grrrr.

If someone has it or can remember it, please advise. Thanks.

A HUGE WEEKEND FOR ME GUYS, HERE'S THE STORY:

- My wife's status went to "in-process" on Saturday May 17 (We started processing your application on May 14, 2014.)

- On Monday May 19 she got a call from the Canadian Embassy in Chandigarh confirming her date of birth, full name, and address. As well, they asked her if she can travel to Canada before June 8 (as her medicals expire that day), she said "YES!!!!!!!"

- She got a call today May 20 at 12 noon asking her to pick up her passport from the Canadian Embassy in Chandigarh before 2pm and she went in 10 minutes (as she lives in Chandigarh) and picked it up ! ! ! ! ! ! !

- They returned all our photographs along with the passport with the Canadian visa in it, online status still says "in process"

SUPER SUPER EXCITED AS THIS TORTURE HAS FINALLY ENDED ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I WISH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CASE :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

"Dear Mike,

My current home address is:

XXXXXXXX
XXXXx
XXXX

I applied for my wife's visa on July 25, 2013. The New Delhi Visa office has started working on August applicants as per this canadavisa.com forum. Link below:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/new-delhi-2013-applicants-t132103.39660.html

I want to inquire about my wife's application but they would only respond to a MP inquiry. So I humbly request you to inquire on my behalf.

My wife's name is XXXXXXXXXXx

Her UCI for visa application: XXXXXXXX.

Online on their status checking website says file Received on July 25, 2013 and medical results have been received. But that's about it. Other people in August started getting "In process" status and also "Decision Made" I am really worried. Please help me in this issue if you can.. Can you inquire about my wife's status please?

I really am hopeful for your reply and help in this matter.

Thank you in advance."

HIS REPLY WAS:

"Thank you for reaching the office of Mike Sullivan, Member of Parliament for York South-Weston. I have contacted CIC on your behalf and they have informed me that your file # is: XXXXXXXX.
That it has been approved the first step of the process on August 22, 2013. It is on the second stage of the process: Medical is valid till July 25th, 2014. It takes 13 months to complete the file starting August 22nd, 2013. It is now waiting an officer to receive then file. Let's know if there is anything we can do to help you."

Hope this helps..

Just give him your wife's UCI, Full name, address, place of birth etc.. and he should be able to inquire about it..

Yes I am in Calgary. Lufthansa is super expensive, especially 1 way flight. KLM and Nippon Airlines (Japan Airlines) are around $1200 Canadian. I have flown both KLM and Nippon, liked them both, KLM is usually crowded and the airport in Amsterdam is always crowded, Nippon airlines on the other hand is peaceful and quiet and the airport is the same. So I will see which one i get :)

Sorry did not realize it was so expensive for 1-way. Nippon goes to Vancouver first right?? So immigration for your spouse there??? I guess only concern is unloading luggage and rechecking?

NO, Nippon goes from Delhi to Japan to Calgary (some flights go to Vancouver first, but the one I'm looking at goes to Japan then Calgary). Immigration will be at Calgary. She will receive her luggage here in Calgary only, not at Japan, the airline just transfers the luggage to the next plane.
