Few questions:

How is it that your child is with you in Canada when passport in in India. What if they had asked for interview in between? how would you have travelled out of Canada to New Delhi to attend interview without passport?

I see you are a Nov applicant. Did your case go faster because it is a child application and not a spouse application?

I had never expected any interview for the dependent minor child because, got the TRV visa from the same office just an year ago.
In case of emergency travelling back to home country where you are a citizen, you can always request for a emergency travel document along with a proper reason at your home country’s Consulate office and they can help you.
The application is for minor dependent child with parents are PR holders and may be is the reason for faster processing. For minor dependent children, no PCC and no lading fee is required.
I had communicated timely and with proper explanation with sections referring to the user guide, When NDVO asked for PCC and Landing fee for the applicant.

Submitted spouse application July 31, 2013.
Received letter from Delhi September 16, 2013 requesting passport.
Online application status says they started processing file on April 12, 2014.
Received letter from Delhi requesting additional medical (x-ray) on April 14, 2014.

Hoping to hear something soon.

DM means Dance Merengue, the sort of dance you would do with your spouse after your visa is granted

DM = Decision Made on case, its an positive answer. Delhi office is weird sometimes they contact before sending passports normally they don't. Individual case is different. Can you please share your file transfer date or sponsorship approval date.

It is my turn to say OMG my status was changed to DM but I am in confusion because I did my re-medical after deadline I was 10 days behind.They had send mr re-medical request to my POBOX instead of email. I contacted CIC office They had received my medical on April 18 and DM was on May 11. My VFs status is under proecessing however it is Dm on Ecas. Do anyone know how long it takes to receive passport.

Wow It is indeed a good news in the forum. Only four cases of Jan 13 were hanging without knowing the fate. The one cleared though late without an interview. So the unpredictable NDVO gave one more clue " WE DELAY CASES JUST LIKE THAT. When we delay dont jump to concludion interview is on CARDS." Congratulations. Wish you a speedy visa Happy journey.
If the fate of other old cases are done faster it would be a releif to many.

-We received xxxxx application for permanent residence on July 31, 2013
-We started processing xxxxx application on April 12, 2014.
-Medical results have been received.

In the medical, they did not send back the passport and merely a letter saying they wanted chest x-ray. That was done on April 16, 2014 and the doctor said they would forward it themselves to the Delhi office.

I'm reading through several pages back and it sound like I should hear something in the coming weeks

Happy to inform you all that , today 15-May-2014, we have received the passport with PR VISA stamping and COPR from the New Delhi VISA Office at my address in INDIA.
Now all the process is completed except for landing formality for my dependent child who is already in Canada on TRV.
I am exepcting teh passport and the documents back in Canada some time next week with freind of mine and then the following week, I will complete the landing process.

Here are my time lines for the Family Class - Dependent Child (minor 4 years old):

Application delivered CPC-Mississauga on: 20-Nov-2013
AOR from Mississauga: 28-12-2013
Sponsorship Approved on: 06-Jan-2014
Additional Docs Requested by email from New Delhi: 23-Jan-2014
Explanation Letter sent : 30-Jan-2014
Passport Request rcvd from New Delhi by email : 10-Apr-2014
Passport Delivered at New Delhi VISA offIce on: 21-APR-2014
Online status changed to Decission Made i.e, on: 12-May-2014
Passport received with VISA and COPR at INDIA: 15-May-2014

and this closes my application.

Mid February 2014.

we made the mistake of doing the medical before gathering all other documents....took a while to obtain birth certificate.
