thanks bossbig, shrofb, DVA, Anishka, Shakedin and Deep singh for your wishes and congratulations. Sorry I couldn't thank each one of you individually (if I do it then I might beat Myrah's record of most posted forum member). I wish everyone success in getting their visas and those who have already landed good luck in settling down and establishing a great life...

my partner has been asked to redo medicals and we are planning to send passport along with emedical receipt. Or to buy some time we might do medicals now and then send passport after request. When they issue confirmation of permanent residence, how long is the visa valid? the new medical exams would be valid for a year and I don't think COPR will be valid for a year. So how much time does visa office gives an applicant to leave India? Wonder if there would be enough time to resign job etc.

So far the trend is the medical expiry date. No forum member who got visa on remedical have not stated about the validity of the visa Had it been a short notice they would have stated. So you will have lot of time for submitting a resignation and notice period.
Further jobs here in general ask for three months notice or three months salary in lieu of notice. one can give a notice and also withdraw it anytime before the releiving date. One can leave the job anytime paying notice period salary which would be the worst case at the maximum.
So right now submit the notice period and on seeing the visa date you decide whether to change the schedule by withdrawing the notice to issua fresh on on a future date or give salary in lieu of notice and flly faster. You have all the choices. Be happy.

it may not happen since they are not that cruel to ask you to leave the country in 5 days...more likely they will extend your medical expiration date and ask you to leave in two weeks....

Thanks for the information w2e.....i was not aware that u have to travel before medical expiration.

AOR: 9th July'13
File Transferred : 6th Aug'13
Passport Requested: 4th September'13
Still My E-cas Status is Your Application received for PR on Dated 9th Jul'13.

I am little bit confused some of members like me have the same status , but one addition is there Medicals have been received.

But it is not in my status, i.e I had submit my Medicals with my file. Why they did not update in my status .

If You have an idea please suggest me

Anyone is waiting like me of July'13 Applicant.

I applied July 11, 2013, and am still waiting for an update. I have "application received" and "medicals received", nothing else. We should be getting something by now, but I don't know why they skipped us :'( I did MP inquiry at the beginning of April only to find put my file has not been touched and is awaiting "initial review", now I have applied for GCMS notes last week, so waiting for those but hoping for an update before my notes arrive.

Hi Gagi007,

I can understand the pain you going thru...as u have mentioned earlier, your MP said u r treated as August applicant and as ur file transfer date is 12th august, i am guessing u will get updates by next week, as NDVO has already processed till 6th aug file ...so i pray next week is ur omg week :)

That's the weird part, I check the spreadsheet and it seems people who applied around the same time as I did have all been getting visa's, and yet here I am, being considered an "august applicant". Also, I found out through my MP the my wife's medicals are good until June 13, but she did her medicals on May 13, so does this mean they already extended it for 1 month? We'll it's been over a month since I did MP inquiry and hopefully by now they have started working on our file, I'm just holding on for that sweet sweet update. Thanks for the good luck friend, I'm also sending some good luck your way, hope you are re-united with the love of your life very very soon :)

Any idea anyone, how long does it take after remedical to get Decision made?

Yes. Since they have already extended your medicals, my prediction is that you have good chance of getting visa in next couple of weeks.
How you did your MP enquiry? Just sending an email will do?

Hi NALBLR,

Congrats on getting your PR.

Are you a september applicant? Just wondering how come you got it so fast, as currently they are doing Aug. Is it because you had a 10 Yr Canada visitor visa already and so that made your case more genuine and so they processed your thing faster? Pl do clarify.

Andy

I am writing this follow-up post which would be helpful for all people with DM status.

- Got DM last Tuesday. I did not receive any call from the CIC.
- My passport arrived this afternoon. It came by registered post and was delivered by the postman. There was no strict procedure followed like in with UK/Schengen where you have to first show your passport copy and then you get the passport.
- The package came with my current passport and the previous ones that I submitted. Along with it there were 2 forms titled "Confirmation of Permanent Residence" which proved my basic information, my personal details and my application and medical details i.e. just summarizing dates and addresses. One form had my pport pic and the other was just a copy.
- There was another document titled "Visa information Important".
- The documents were literally shoved into the envelope and were quite crumpled.
- I have an existing 10 year Canadian visa which they haven't cancelled, so I don't know whether that is still held valid, or it becomes null and void once the P.R. is issued.
- Apart from my marriage certificate which was an original that I got back, nothing else that I had submitted was returned.

So please don't panic if you haven't received a call from the office. In all probability your passport is in the mail and will reach you in a week/10 days.

Hi,

I am in the same boat. My visa is valid till 2015 and my spousal application is in process.

Did they stamped your passport with new visa or you have to travel with this same previous visa?

They have stamped the passport with the new visa. The file number is the same but this one says Immigrant whereas the previous one said Visitor

I am end of august applicant .. Medical expired in this month.. Wats the chance of getting visa???
