Did MP inquiry at the beginning of April, found out my file is still "awaiting initial review". Applied for GCMS notes last week. The thing is my wife had her medicals done May 13, but my MP said the medicals are expiring June 13 as told to him by NDVO, so does this mean NDVO extended the medicals?

GCMS note will give you a complete detail. Its a 25-26 page document which has a full process of spousal application and its status. Like medical, fees received, security etc.

It is not a 1 page document which states "In-progress".

Yes, I already know it is not a 1 page document, and contains detailed information in multiple pages that does not display "in-process". But, I'm sure you know that MP inquiry is quicker/faster way of finding out what going on with your file, although not that detailed. I already know about medicals, fees received. passport received, etc.

One of my frd went to MP(Brampton) and he was told "In-progress" everytime he visited MP office.Funny thing is that on his 4th visit he was told "File in progress" and it will take 2 more months, same day he got a call from India that the spouse got passport with shiny Visa.

Reliability of information very less as per my experience.

In my case I came to know about missed PPR through GCMS note only as CIC entered wrong email address into their system.I dont think I would have got this information through MP inquiry.

Hope you get VISA before you get reply of your GCMS note :)

True, reliability of information is low, but when the MP says "your file has not been touched yet", reliability goes out the window, because there is no information to be reliable, if that makes sense :P All i found out was that file has not been touched yet, my file was transferred to Delhi on August 12, they did receive her passport in September and according to NDVO my wife's medicals are set to expire on June 13 (even though medicals were done on May 13)

they said this thing

Pursuant to your request for an update on your son Navdeep Singh sponsorship application, our office has been advised that file is pending a review. medicals are on file and valid until February 2015
