Has any one send the passport to NDVO from outside India? If so then how?

as aug27 applicant said 'it is possible for applicants living in Nepal, Bhutan, and neighboring countries to use DHL to send passports' (not sure I think you can use VFS too) but if you are living in Canada, the safest way is to send through a trusted person. Some people have used Canada post and were successful but it is risky. It is illegal to send Indian passport through mail. Biggest problem would be if you have to come to India on an emergency or attend interview, how will you do it? you can opt for second, third or final ppr request which might delay your process.

Sending passport through mail is not illegal; but may not be safe. I sent through mail when I appleid for canada before. But that was about 8 years ago. Don't know about now. But at that time, they called me to send in passport and told me to send it by regular mail, as they don't accept via courier. But this was inland.

someone in this forum wrote in their post that in the back of their Indian passport it says it is illegal to mail. Setting aside the question of if it is legal or illegal to send passport, it is a nightmare figuring out how to attend an interview in New Delhi when they live overseas with no indian passport to come back to India

today is end of my 9th month waiting....there are 16 people listed on the spreadsheet (Jan - May) who are waiting to hear anything from NDVO. Out of which only 2 (includes me) still waiting for passport request. Not sure why these 16 people have been left out..special case or files just lost in the basement? waiting for my notes and hopefully I won't see the dreaded 'nothing started yet' words...

Its hard to say when you will get IP. They may give you the visa before medicals expire. You have time for 1 months and half so hopefully they will give you good news on your anniversary. Thats nice to know your anniversary is on Valentines day. I know its hard not to be together on anniversary but you guys will be together in next year too. I wish you a happy wedding anniversary in advance. God bless u both.

they dont provide tracking number and you get it within 5-10 days after they send it

Which courier do you use to submit your passport to NDVO? I am from Mumbai and I need to submit my passport to them. Is there an option to give the passport in person to their NDVO office.

Hey there....u can use "Blue Dart" courier services....I used the same this month......Use their priority service n it wil be delivered with in two working days....moreover u can track it online n certainly know when it gets delivered........There is no option to give the passport in person as they do not accept that ways....its only through registered post or courier.....Hope this helps.....

Please don't worry much. There was never a case for spousal visas where they asked to do PCC again.

Thank you SN0206, I am in a very bad situation where I want to go see my wife but I cannot go due to job. I have booked my time earlier so I can go pick her up when the visa arrives. I don't want her to travel alone as she never did went anywhere and also I want to see her reaction when she takes the flight for the first time in her life. Our anniversary is in April but the way it is going now I might get the good news in March maybe. February is almost over now just 1 more week and the only problem that I am facing now is her PCC which the officer said it might also got expired but she never mentioned this on the letter we got. If we have to wait more chances are it is going to be over soon and she might have to do it again which will push the file 3 more months.

I am very scared and I don't want to go through the same situation again to get PCC. This is the only thing that is bothering me from the day she got back from her interview and we submitted the medical.
