Dear Friends,

My wife's online status shows as decision made (New Delhi Office). My question is how long will it take to get the passport home after decision made and also her medicals will expire next month march 8th. Once she gets passport with visa does she needs to enter before her medicals expiry date or is it ok to enter after that also, is there a time limit.

Please let me know.

Thank You

myrah dear please update the spread sheat as my last post thanks

Hi Shelly, currently NDVO working on June applicants and the last they issued visa for 11th June applicant plus there are many many applicants still left from jan-may, you should hear something good in mid-end march or early april, please share your complete timeline to add you in spread sheet, wishing you speedy visa.

My interview is on Mar 19th, not Apr 26

Best regards.

Yes, April 26 is when you filed your application. I have usually put each applicant's date filed so everyone gets an idea of how long it took to get some updates. As well as how many people were processed during the week. Sorry about the confusion. And I can put your interview date in. Thanks and good luck for your interview.

Need help...
My spouse is applying for my PR and he will file the application this week. Once applied for PR, I am thinking to apply for student VISA. What are the chances that it will get approved? Does it affect my PR application? Has anyone tried it and got into the student program?

Any answer will be helpful

hmm...It depends on what your highest level of studies are now and what you are planning to apply for. If you have an undergraduate degree and are applying for a college, you most likely won't get the student visa. But you might get it if you apply for a Masters. It all depends on the visa officers.

New Delhi asks for your passport 2 months after the application is submitted. What would you do if you are in Canada on student visa? You can ask for a 2nd PPR but that might delay your processing. Or if you submit it and need to travel later on, you are in a bind.

Maybe you can apply for student visa and if you get it, you can apply inland...but it takes longer than outland.

Good luck with your decision.

thanks desi-girl..whether there is interview or not, whether they want to give visa or deny, I just want the process to be transparent - why the delay in processing my file? why they haven't asked for passport? if I know how long it will take to get some answer, I can plan accordingly. I can't be in India indefinitely as it affects my PR status...

We are all with you there. We alll wish they would automatically let us know what is happening instead of applying and going through the confusing GCMS notes or running back and forth from the MP's office.
Not knowing anything is much more of a problem for those of us who are planners and like to have everything organized and planned out.
When would you have to go back to Canada? Hope NDVO surprises you and your wife with a big fat shiny visa soon :D and end this waiting so that you can exhale soon ;)
And I hope the same for the rest of us waiting too.
