my file was received on last of july 2013 and the letter was issued through airmail on september 2013 and i submitted my passport AT delhi high commission AND THEY received my passport on october 2013 through DHL ,so please let me know about the remaining process.

Now the long wait begins my friend. I applied in July as well, passport sent in September, and till date no updates. We have 1 more month to go before we hear anything, and maybe 2 months before our visas get issued, if we're lucky. Next, our files will go into "in process", then "decision made", then you will receive your passport back in the mail with your visa stamped into it

1 month???? Why??

They are random, some people get it in one week, some have to wait for 1 month. The postal workers were on strike, don't know if their strike is over yet or not, so that might delay your passport as well

i am from nepal,,i have already submitted my passport to delhi,,its more than 4 months now,no any reply from their,how long does it takes to get my passport back?and my medical is also going to expire on this march 2014 so i have to make another new medical? and does it make any difference in process?i mean it delays in the process while making new medical and submittinh to new delhi?please advice me

NDVO does not acknowledge the receipt of passport. If your mailing service that you used can give you a tracking number, you can find out if NDVO has received it or not. As for time frame, submission of passport is the initial process and so it takes almost 8 to 12 months (more if you are unlucky, less if you are lucky). So wait (not sure about your timeline..normally passport is requested within a month or two after the file transfer so I am assuming you were a June/July applicant..if June then they have started processing now..if it is july wait for some more time). Don't worry about medicals. They extend it based on the timeline and where your application stage at that time. You need their letter to do your medicals again.

I tried this but nothing received so far.

it takes them 30 - 40 days to respond..if your application is within normal processing time then they send out a generic response ' your file is within normal processing time'..I sent out 7 case specific inquiry only ended up getting one response saying..you guessed it...'your file is within normal processing time'

wait....wait....more wait....some more wait....if you don't hear anything from them by March end/April, order 'notes' and see what happened to your file....

I think you should wait atleast 2 months months.
I submitted my passport in july 3rd week still not updates. They are currently working on Jan 13 to May 13 and processed few of Jun 13 applications.

Finally i m out.
Just got a call from NDVO saying they have issued permanent visa..
this is the best valentine gift to me by ndvo and i called my husband and shared the same gift with him.
thanks to all for sparing ur valuable time and advising me, thanks a million for bearing with me.
