See i have a paper in which my sin no is mentioned and other details..the officer told me that u will get it delivered to ur address by 3 weeks !!
Maybe its new.! But i have experienced it 2 days back so ofcourse i know better what happened at the airport.

You r right... Te SIN number is given at the airport... Its new and it started sometime last year...

We have applied for Spousal Visa. Our Application was received on June,2013. My passport was sent in September,13 to Delhi High Commission. I have to travel in the month of April,2014. Can anyone help me how much time will it take to get my passport back? I was told 4-7 months then someone said 10 mnths but am not sure the 4 to 7 or 10 is from the date passport has been sent. And does it take this long?
Please help me. The website only says Decision Made and Application Received.

Hello Sajy, welcome to the forum, currently they are processing Jan-May applicants and they have started June applicants as well, you should hear update from NDVO in coming weeks, please share your complete timeline to add you in spread sheet, thanks & wish you speedy visa.

hey guys reached safe and sound.. ..immigration process was just 5 mins for me..........no issues no problem.....and everyone just smiled and welcomed ............OMGGGGGGGG its so cold.....
just one thing when u get the visa and the landing papers with that...whatever address is on that paper .........that's the same address where your pr card is mailed........by chance if that's not your address they provide u with a paper with the process to chg the address to send the pr card...either u fax them or call them and confirm the new address........... ;D that's all coz my papers had his old address ....... 8)

on flight they give u the declaration form where u fill up your name address bday etc .....if u have anything to declare go for immigration they stamp and send u to the other room where the officer takes the second landing paper with your pic stamps the 1st paper and gives u back and its done its the most simple process and I thought it wld be complicated no one asked how much cash how much jewellery all they asked was any goods to follow that's all ;D I had 3 very heavy bags so took the porter to carry my bags cost me 10$ gave him extra 10$ tip.........

I have talked to people and met people who have applied and got TRV's while waiting for a spousal sponsorship. Getting it or not is different issue

hmm, well it's just a matter of different experience with TRV. I was told by CIC that one cannot apply for TRV while a spousal application is in process, on the other hand, you have met people who received a TRV while their spousal application is in process. Both correct????????

So guys quick update...i am in CANADAAAAAAA with my family
The custom allowed me to get all my stuff jewelry and cash..and asked if there are goods to follow...if u have goods to follow plz carry the pictures of all the stuff as u have to submit the photos at the airport...
U will be provided social insurance number there itself at the airport !

congrats....oh so they give you the SIN at the airport itself...i remember when I came in first we had to go to the office and then apply....
BTW I am jsut wondering if they asked you for showing proof of funds?

Also in the papers they also ask that they will interview you ...but I dont think they interview you just ask questions...I think for the goods to follow you have like 30 days or 90 days to show to the custom....do they stamp the goods declared?
