hello deep singh,
as per my last information, PR or NON-PR, its same for all, transit visa is not needed for connecting flights.
i came via heathrow early this year, did not need transit visa, no matter how many stops/countries your flight stops en route, you do not need visa if you do not leave the airport, i had same experience for amsterdam and zurich, the passenger area of any international airport is considered international travel zone so no visa is needed for flight change or stop-over of few hours,( i m not sure of much longer stopover periods/ like days), and one more thing that i found out... at heathrow there are very good large sofa seats near terminal A7 with play area for children, anyone who has more than 2-3 hours stay can go and have a comfortable rest/short nap there.. hope i was helpful.. god bless.

Moreover, yesterday I got reply from UK-VFS deptt. & they said under below conditions Transit visa is not required:
1. Stay should be less than 24Hrs or not over night stay.
2. Traveler not going out side to the Airport.
3. Must have details of continue journey ticket or confirmed Connecting flight details.
4. No more than One halts during the journey.
& bla bla ...

So as per above info in our case we don't require any transit visa.

Singapore Fingerprints

Hi all, We have been asked to submit fingerprints to Singapore police to get clearance. A couple of questions:
1. Who does these in India?
2. What type of fingerprints: Electronic OR Manual

when you sign in, there is a profile option at the top of the frame (next to home, assessment, help, search), click on that and on the left side of the frame you see modify profile, there you can modify anything (but no four letters words are allowed describing NDVO actions)....please send me rs.1000 for this useful information and i take credit cards too if you don't have money....

Your application is well on track and you need not worry much about it any more. I am pretty sure you will get it processed within 3 months at most.
IN THE MEAN TIME GET A POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE READY SO THAT YOU CAN PROVIDE THE SAME TO CANADIAN EMBASSY IN NEW DELHI WHEN THEY ASK FOR IT.

We got married in Nov and my hunband is a PR of Canada.
He filed a visa for me in dec & got acknowledgement from CIC on 19 Jan, 2013 saying that they received our application on 31st DEc, 2013.
And received another email from CIC on 23rd Jan, 2013 saying that "My husband have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for me has been forwarded to a visa office DELHI for further processing."

So I just wanted to understood how long this process takes place, etc.

your curiosity virus caught on to me and now I had to do some investigation about this mysterious post (I blame you both for spreading this virus to me...anyway nothing happening in this forum so why not spend some time on saroja's issue)..saroja had posted only one post on first page of this thread and gulzar asked for timelines..nothing came out of it... in January someone had comforted saroja that her application was on track..so saroja please update us on your whereabouts I am worried sick about you...did you land in Canada? if I do not know about your current status, I will have to be 'sleepless in Chennai'

person who replied to saroja's post said 'it took three months to process a file' that was in Jan 2013...three months lucky guys ....reminds me of my grandpa saying 'in those days a box of chocolate was 10 paisa' feels like eons ago when processing time was three months...future generations from now would say 'those days it took one year to complete visa process now it takes three years'

I am sharing my experience as i Recently applied for singapore COC and got it. I am staying in dubai but previously worked in singapore for 2years.

I Sent a email to "SPF_CID_COC@spf.gov.sg" and they guided me with the required formalities for non-citizens. part of the info is available in the SPF Website.

You have to submit the following to Singapore police CID office,
1. Application for COC,
2. Appeal for COC request,
3. Along with a DD of S$50,
4. Finger prints from local CID office or police station.
5. DIAC information request letter-from CO mentioning the need for police clearance,
6. Passport photos-3nos
7. Passport with relevent immigarion stamp photocopies.
8. Any appointment letter while working in sinapore.

Once your appeal is successful they will inform you thru the email then they will send the COC to DIAC Case officer mail id give by you.

It took 1 week to get the Appeal successful letter and they mentioned it will take 2 weeks to send the COC to Australia, but i guess it will be earlier.
