Hi,

Is there any valid reason for NDVO is so silent for 3 weeks. I didn't read all pages in this thread. Pls reply if someone know about the reason for current slow process in NDVO.

There can be many reasons....
1. They are generally lazy
2. It's close to Christmas and nobody wants to work because they are in the holiday mood.
3. They are busy with other visas... Mostly student visas.

Finally i got PPR.
Just dont understand why MP didnt mention that in an enquiry made a week earlier...
Lets see how long will they take from now...Still dont trust NDVO and their processing time...
But hope this wait will end soon for all of us...

as far as I know there are no quotas for family visa...maybe others can confirm or deny my assumption...

I understand our desire to come up with various theories to justify delay of issuance of visas, but I don't think quota for spousal visas is a valid one.

The order of things at NDVO, only NDVO knows. I don't think we have enough GCMS notes data to certainly state any one particular order.

OK so my guess was right, SC is Security Criminality. It's odd that the file went to SC before junior officer made any notes on Interview Waiver recommended or not... :-X

Also, I second that - no quota for spousal. They plan their resource allocation based on previous yr estimates, that's all.

can anyone give me expert advice on likelihood of interview if there is age difference of 2-3 years and wife is elder ?

I am not 100% sure but If wife is older, that might be considered a red flag for the NDVO... But a few years may not be a problem.
I know that one of the other members on another forum and of a different VO had to go through the interview because the wife was older by 10 years and had kids from a previous marriage. These were the red flags. But they had met online and knew each other for 7-10 years before they got married. So the case is a little different with a larger age gap but they had many proofs that the relationship was genuine and passed the interview with flying colours.
Can't predict what NDVO will do.

Hey guys. Just have a quick question; one of my relatives wants to start a sponsorship for his wife from Delhi. His wife lives in Pakistan, but looking at the timeline for issuing a visa (32 months), he wants to take the shortcut and do it through Delhi. Now, is he able to sponsor her if she gets a 1 year visa? or does she have to be an Indian national? Also, how hard is it to get a 1 year visa for India?

as far as I know, the applicant has to be Indian citizen in order to apply from India....there are couple of forum members of Nepal origin and I assume their files are sent to India for processing..I may be wrong on that assumption

Hi, I think you have to apply to the visa office of the country where you are the resident, and living, working or attending school. A visit visa to India is only valid for 6 months max but they ask for valid reason to visit India. It may be easier if her husband, your relative is in India too and is the citizen/ resident of India. I don't think there is an option for 1 year directly. And New Delhi visa office is very slow right now too. I don't want to bring your hopes down, but at the rate that the Delhi VO is going, it may take more than 1 year for complete processing because there are still some 2012 applicants waiting as well as 2013 Jan to May applicants.

We humbly indicate that it is not easy coming to office fighting the traffic, having water cooler moments to discuss about spouses, children and in-laws; mentally getting ready for lunch break; and when we open your files it is time to go back. As per section 3(a) sub para (i) as defined in ND employee rules book, we are just following the rules 'first make yourself as comfortable as you can in order to carry out your duties'

Hahaha.. Lol ;D ;D Good one.
But surely that can't be the everyday routine :-X NDVO officers would lose their minds with following a specific routine of doing no work because they are so unpredictable (I am sure that is priority in the rules book too... They do have to master the art of appearing that they are working when they aren't? And make us applicants confused so we don't grab pitchforks, batons, hockey sticks, etc. and march right up to them because we are not sure how NDVO runs it's offices)
