Hi Everyone!

I am new to this forum.

Just want you to update my file status.

Application sent - 10 Sept 2013

Application received - 15 Sept 2013

Sponsorship approval - 24 Sept 2013

File Transfer to New Delhi - 26 sept 2013

I got confirmation of application received and file transfer to NDVO by email which I mentioned in my application.

Upto now I haven't got PPR. Do they ask by email or postal mail for submission of passport.

Any comments or feedback

Thanks

I just realized her passport doesn't expire in March but end of May. That gives us few more months.
I contacted few lawyers and immigration consultants here in Canada and they told me you can not mail you passport to a personal address in India. It is legal to send it through a secured mail to an embassy.
Further, in the letter received from delhi office specifically said to send the passport in secured mail and provide an address in India where it will be returned. I have provided them an address in India. I don't have an issue with getting the passport back to Canada, I will just tell a family member to bring it with them when they are flying from India to Canada. My biggest concern is should I call NDVO and tell them to return the passsport to get it renewed? We applied in May 2013 and at that time procedure was supposed to take 10 months, we thought we will have her passport with PR by end of March 2014.

Thats good! However you should still renew your passport as it has to be valid 6 months from the day the visa has been issued. I had been through this is an other visa request in the past, had to rush a passport renewal last minute... It's not fun and create a lot of stress!
I guess you might be fine for receiving back the passport as you said you checked with your lawyer. My only concern is if you get an interview. I will suggest you to order regularly GCMS notes to keep track of the progress of your application and to find out ahead of time about any travel needs.
Good luck

Hi! Welcome to the forum.
Myrah will add you to the spreadsheet once she checks your post. It's very late in India so she must have gone to sleep. You can find the link for the spreadsheet in my signature below. It's http://goo.gl/CoH7Y

The visa office will send the request to the applicant depending on whether you, if you are the applicant, provided your email address on the forms or not. If you didn't give your email address, NDVO will contact by snail mail (postal). As per your dates, you should have gotten a PPR sometime in October. Did you check your spam folder? Sometimes the emails get sent there, but it might have self deleted it by now :(
But a few people, who did not get their PPR, applied for GCMS notes later in their processing and found out that NDVO had sent them an email which they never received. However, NDVO is known to get email addresses and mailing addresses messed up so who knows what may have happened. You can wait a little more, or order GCMS notes to see what happened. NDVO can send a second request for your passport but that's later in the processing. I would suggest to hold onto your passport and wait for a bit because NDVO doesn't do anything with the passports for a while after they receive them.

Thanks Desi-Girl for your quick reply.

Thanks

You are welcome :)
Oh, and I see you have 10 posts now so you can add your timeline to the left hand side of your posts. Which can be easier for all of us to remember your timeline (since there are a lot of us here) and so that you don't have to get asked your timeline again and again if you have further queries.

By the way, when were your meds done? And where in Canada are you headed?
Wait, are you sponsor or applicant?
If you got an email of application received and file transfer, that is basically the sponsorship approval which is sent to the sponsor. The applicant will get the passport request.

Good luck with your processing. Wishing you a speedy PR.

Hi Desi-Girl,

Medical was sent along with the application + RPF fees of 550$.

I am in Mississauga(Toronto) and I am a sponsor

Thanks once again.

thx a ton sweets :-* :-* im still positive and will always ;D this process is annoying ...we have no clue whats goin on....and thats where what my anger is for no transparency !!! and by the way our dear friend waiting 2 exhale is like Cinderella goes to sleep at 12....not like us owls :P :P :P

lol...NDVO is my stepmother delaying my shiny visa and you are my fairy godmother assuring me that visa will be issued soon. I guess handsome prince is the passport.

by the way, your issue will be resolved soon...to keep sanity just go with the flow and don't expect anything normal from NDVO. To work for governments, one has to screw up everything every day that's a requirement to join government service.

we did call cic and they did confirm our file being transferred to ndvo.....plus we have a mail with the date 19th june saying its gone to ndvo......they are such fools man this system is crap ....they so messed my file......1st they lost it now again some drama created the 2nd time....so technically they saying im a june applicant ? and I will hear something in 6 months that's 15th of jan......

on top of that my mp says 15th dec .....is your date.....wow they cant even calculate the 6 months properly

Myrah, you know wat MP and NDVO are idiots, we can't do anything about this than just waiting. Unfortunately we are trapped in their system, we had to be patient. I have been patiently waiting from January, till this day their is no problem with my file, but still i am waiting and some May applicants are in Canada. We just can't do anything about this. Did u ever ordered notes?, may be it will help to get the answer better. Don't worry Myrah we will get something soon. Let bring your positive attitude out, cheese, lol. We are all here to help each other, u have encouraged me several time, I'll never forget that. Thx Myrah, Keep smiling.
