Hey Guys and Gals,

my wife got her passport, but why is it only single entry? I thought they issued multiple entry visas?

PR is always single entry......and also remember the date of expiry if it expires then you have to apply again.....so make sure you enter the dungeon that is Canada....lol

I just realized her passport doesn't expire in March but end of May. That gives us few more months.
I contacted few lawyers and immigration consultants here in Canada and they told me you can not mail you passport to a personal address in India. It is legal to send it through a secured mail to an embassy.
Further, in the letter received from delhi office specifically said to send the passport in secured mail and provide an address in India where it will be returned. I have provided them an address in India. I don't have an issue with getting the passport back to Canada, I will just tell a family member to bring it with them when they are flying from India to Canada. My biggest concern is should I call NDVO and tell them to return the passsport to get it renewed? We applied in May 2013 and at that time procedure was supposed to take 10 months, we thought we will have her passport with PR by end of March 2014.

That is good to know you can send through secured mail to the embassy......

Also if you can also give a letter or something with the family member so that they dont get into trouble with the carrying of passport.....
I dont htink you can call NDVO I would say email them or I am sute they will call you when they see the passport expiring

Got my notes today.
Interview Waived.
Criminality: in process
It seems like they got RCMP clearance and Indian police clearance, what else would they be doing in criminality check?

Budd...we both are in the same boat...even I received my notes yesterday...interview waved and criminality in process.
I have also sent Indian police clearance and also FBI clearance from USA. The last notes say Criminality pending and final review.

it is more likely that they will extend your medical expiry date by 6 months or more..since it is too close to interview date, they can't ask to pack your bags and leave in 6 days

Hopefully they do extend the medical expiry date for 6 months. It will be so quick to get visa for those ppl who are having an interview.
