I know how you feel....
Mera status "Application Received" may atka hua tha.
Suddently changed today.....I was in disbelief for a while.

I think they are now solely focussing on clearing out all Jan-Apr applicants...there were couple of others from Jan, Feb who had changes today. You should see something soon :)

i apllied for my wife's application in 26 july...file got transfered in Aug2013....ppr in sept have not heard anything after that. any idea how much more time i have to wait guys
I applied in March and status changed today. My wife's passport was requested back in May.
So might be a couple of months before you see something. Seems like they are trying to clear out all the backlog due to the strike....once they are done things will probably move much faster.
Till then, just hang in there, stay positive and be patient :)

So, my wife's application status changed to 'In Process'. They say since October 26.

However, we still don't have a PPR.. so I guess it may be a quick turnaround on that part if they haven't asked for it till now. Or at least I hope for that.

Congrats, schwrizer. No PPR, wow, so i guess "in process" doesn't mean that they are ready to issue visa.

Thanks for the information.........Hope soon we all get our visas..............

For those who haven't received PPR don't compare your application with others every case is different. I haven't received PPR yet but my status changed to IN process..Now waiting for them to ask Passport. My time line is

Application Received : Jan 29 2013
Sponsor approved : Feb 20
October 29 : Status changed In process.

Good luck and Have Patience.Happy Diwali :)

vow...weird things happen at NDVO..I wanted to ask the forum members about whether it was possible to have 'in process' status while not having a passport request...and you have provided me the answer. I was worried that if I had not had a passport request, would that mean there is going to be an interview. It looks like nothing is predictable at NDVO. BTW, I wanted to ask you about your status for a long time since you and I have not had a passport request yet. Status change is a good sign for you.

interesting....the time lag for some applicants has been about 8 to 9 months before status changes..I have come across only one forum member whose application was processed in 6 to 7 months....it is a matter of luck

my suggestion (and it is all free..just don't encourage me to suggest more) for all waiting forum members is to use this time to get ready for your new life when you move to Canada..instead of getting anxious and becoming a nerve wreck or depressed over the delays, use this time to learn french/driving/new career/develop network/ new skills like cooking (this goes for both men and women)/learning to be independent/health check up and so on. It is expensive to learn these skills in Canada besides time factor.

Thanks bud, I am not sure what it exactly means. But, I do think that that change reflects that someone is spending a whole lot more time on the file than they previously have. So I am happy.
