If you are requesting information for the person who is Canadian Citizen, permanent residents and any individual present *in* Canada then you can apply under Privacy Act.

However, if you are applying for the person living outside of Canada, you need to apply under "Access to Information Act". And in such cases you need to have CONSENT FORM IMM5744 signed by that person.

Hey Steve,
The notes gave me a clear picture of what is going on. My application has been completed and is waiting only for the passport since july 27. Everything has been done already. The NVDO was sending me an email on an email address which is wrong. After looking at the notes i came to know that i missed the ppr twice. But my ecas shows in process Oct 10 which also shows on my GCMS notes.
