I am a march applicant and still shows "application Received"!!
What is your timeline?

My timeline is following:

AOR Received.: 28-March-2013
File Transfer...: 9-April-2013
Med's Done....: Medical done in Feb 2013
Passport Req..: 24-April-2013
Passport received by NDVO: 27-April-2013
Status change to decision made:....waiting
Passport with visa Received: ....Waiting

to be fair, with government jobs freeze, outdated technology, waiting for background clearance (not in NDVO hands if the applicant has stayed in many countries for more than 6 months), missing supporting documents, too many applications to deal with etc takes time. If NDVO broadcasts their less than ideal working conditions in which they are working, we can all be sympathetic to their plight. It is the lack of transparency that makes one side suspect that they are lazy and the other side irritated with unrealistic expectations. I still think getting a visa in a year is much acceptable than waiting for 33 months as they do in some countries. Having defended NDVO, I admit it is fun to make fun of them or curse them. Yes, some people who work for government do not work but having worked in some private sectors I have seen people goofing off there too (may not to the extent of government sector)

Hello guys,

I applied for my wife sponsorship in January and i am still waiting for an answer. Since, PAFSO are very slow in processing files. I decided to go visit my wife for 3 weeks.

Since, I will be in India, I am just wondering if it's a good idea to go to Delhi embassy in person and inquire about the status? Will they answer me?

Jan/Feb applicants!!! Did anyone contact MP to find out whats up with your files? I am a Jan applicant and it's very disheartening to know that my file is still pending for initial review!! :'(

I did once. Got the same answer- "initial review". Then emailed MP to do after a month to do once again. Then got another generic answer- "your file is still in time frame, nothing can be done at this point"

Is anybody would know if there is another way to receive the birth certificate in India other than in the native region? For example an mother-office in New Delhi or something else? There is a general strike in Andhra Pradesh since August 2nd and the birth certificate is lacking to our file :-[

One of my friends has found a work-around for the birth certificate.
He had a similar problem of not having a birth certificate while applying for his PR. Though, he is applying for PR under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and not a sponsorship application. I believe he produced the same documents that he produced to the Indian passport office when he applied for the India passport. I believe he had to get one more affidavit along with some other proofs.

I will check with him and reply to you by the weekend.

i cant see medical received because i had sent it with main application ... unlike waiting for medical request n submission

There was one medical form which was missing...
Due to the nature of our case, we couldnt send out all the documents when we applied, as we were waiting to receive those documents..

Congrats atlast you got visa.Has it took 2 years to send medical certificate. How much time you waited to apply GCMS after sending passport .Im also going through same process to bring my dependent just curios to know about it.
