Yes this is a better option if you can go for this rather than waiting for PR. In case of Dependent/student visa you can get your wife to canada on basis of that.prasamp said:They are not same. Dependent visa is for Work permit holders or person who are temporary in canada (spousal visa is a term used by ppl) PR process for spouse is completely different.
In Vinod case its good to apply for a dependent visa (if your work permit is valid) and get your wife to canada and both of you submit PR application together so that you can live together until PR process gets over for both.
But as per latest info they are not issuing PR easily to Work Permit holders.
