My husband smokes and he got his visa a few weeks ago. It certainly is not what is holding up getting your visa. Though my husband will probably quit when he gets here when he sees how expensive it is, plus it is socially unacceptable to smoke here in Canada nowadays.

It could be anything....it all depends upon how u presented your file...if u have well explained everything with proofs..thn they shud not have called you for the interview ..something was missed in your file..

That could be one reason, though 10 years isn't a big deal here in Canada, but in India it is a big deal. People in India are so worried about age. Just a number people...
My husband is younger than me, not an issue for us and wasn't for CIC either.

Yes I agree, something MIGHT be making them question your file. But on the other hand, I think they have to interview so many people per year as per their protocol. So it could also be just very bad luck that your file got chosen to be interviewed. Though this just means you go to the interview, show your relationship is genuine, and boom, you'll get passport with visa right after!

hi everyone,

update from my side got my wifes gcms today...

Its kinda of really frustrating to see nothing has happened yet. Criminality,Security,Medical,Eligibility (nothing started) even in ecas medicals received update missing.
Its 5th month now, but somehow it reached Delhi very late. From sponsor approval 15th May the file reached Delhi in the 2nd week of june.

Notes generated date 14th August.

Prasamp, as waiting1234 has stated it's early to see some activities in your gcms.
I applied my first GCMS after 6 months, and just the eligibity was updated.
Medical was 'Started' in my second GCMS (7 months after application).
It doesn't have to be similar timeline for others as well, but just giving you an idea from my notes.

@ myrah yes its confirmed... yes i knw thr is no such reason k interview lein...jus interview ka kaha n if no update cme aftr a mnth.. it will tk 11 mnths kaha...

I don't think interview will be a problem of concerns, they just wana justify their reasons that your marriage is genuine. But the only problem right now is waiting period. They are not scheduling interview at the moment due to strike. Please tell the MP that u cannot wait additional 1 month for no reasons. Tell MP that they are not scheduling any interviews, no point of waiting for a month. Put pressure on the MP and ask MP to send an email to NDVO to schedule an interview. Put pressure on the MP to stop the strike, so that he can raise his voice in the parliament. Nothing to worry saniali, we all the the same boat. Things will turn around for everyone when the strike ends.

10 years gap might be the reasons for the interview. you should stress the fact that 10 years is not a concern for you or your religion or culture. No worries. Take all the proofs, any recent phone bills, gifts. You will get the visa right after the interview. Trust me.

This strike has affected our lives very badly...n these PIGS are not even making efforts to end this strike..do not care people live or die...all they want more money does not matter if we and our families suffer ... we are like hostages from 3rd world country for them...

Guys, need some help anyone who is good at reading GCMS notes help me.
Eligibility:

created date : 2013/03/13
updated date : 2013/07/02
Status: Recommended Pass
Status date : 2013/07/02
Duedate : 2014/03/13
What is the meaning of due date here, are they going to touch my file again in 2014 march, Now I am worried and nervous, please some one let me know.

Hey Roam! Couple of suggestions for you.
1) Assessments (in the second/third page) gives the gist (Overall status of Eligibility, Security, Criminality, Medical etc)
2) Notes at the end of the report (in the last page) would mention about the inteview waiver (since you have recommended pass, there shoud be some notes about it there) and any other important updates

Don't worry about the due date, as it seems like a data for their admin activities.
Btw, congrats for the recommended pass under eligibility.
