I keep forgetting that not everyone has traveled as often. I consider myself a seasoned traveler (been to about 20 countries), and I personally love airports and flying (before kids..lol). It can be a bit stressful, but I think finding your way around to the gates is less stressful once you are there in the airport.
My husband said he is excited to see two countries airports. LOL.
I know the Dubai airport and Heathrow airport in London like the back of my hand.

But for those not wanting to pay over $1500 for air tickets, 2 stops might be mandatory.

I wont pay $1500 even...you are right....and its a good learning experience for him as well....n sept 13 is almost there....

Where do you find flights? I like to think I have some good flight researching skills and never saw that price at all. I just did a quick search and flights from Ahmedabad-Toronto with 2 stops were $950 (taxes included).
Just curious where you are looking, because that is a good price.

I got married in March and my husband is a PR in Canada.We applied for spousal visa in June 2013 and today I have got a mail from New Delhi visa office asking me to send my passport. Can anyone please let me know what is the best and the safest way to send my passport to New Delhi. Also how long does it normally take for the visa to get processed after they ask for the passport? We are eagerly waiting for it!!!

As you all know me and james are maintaining the spreadsheet. We try our best to keep it updated inspite of our schedules. Recently we saw few members showing interest in becoming admin for the sheet so that we will have more members updating sheet if we are not available or busy. Jk45 you had shown interest and we are awaiting for your message.

If there is anyone interested please send me and James.007 a Personal Message we will add them as admin to the sheet.

We currently have 3 members (myself,James.007,mickey) but mickey is away for sometime now. So we kindly request two more members to volunteer.

So that we have total of 4-5 admins. Please note it will be good to have members who submitted the application from May onwards so that Jan-Mar applicants who are getting their visa these days might not be active in forum regularly.

hey grats for tge wedding i send it thru dhl - aftr submitting pp it usually takes 2 - 11 months -- since the strike is on its taking more time too. Don worry - soon two of u will b together foreva -- good luck

The safest way to send the passport is through a good courier service (Blue Dart, DHL).
it's hard to predict processing times right now as there is a Canadian diplomatic strike happening right now which are affecting the New Delhi Visa Office, among many others around the world.
For instance, my husband sent his passport on May 1st and he just received his visa last week. So about 3.5 months after sending his passport. For others it has been a much longer wait. Some have been waiting 4 and 5 months since they sent their passport. I have heard a lot of people here saying it's usually 120 days after you send the passport (but this is when the visa office is functioning at full capacity).

But I do not want to discourage you. This is a great group of people, who will keep you motivated and positive throughout the process.

I am aware of the strike going on since June It was making us really worried about our case as we were waiting to get the file no since 2 months now. Luckily though, after a long wait today we got the file no!! but now that we have, we are really relieved ( and overjoyed) to know our file is actually getting processed ...
Hopefully its not a very very long wait for us !!!

I send it with Blue Dart, it was in NDVO next day. I checked with the MP, he says my passport is in my file. Make sure that you make a copy of the letter that you received and send it along with the passport.

what i want to know is...how NDVO sends it back...?

the ones who got their visa with pasport can share this info with us....

Oh i will make sure to attach the print out of the letter then as I got the communication from them via email today.
Any other document that i have to send along with the pp? I have already sent them my pcc and medicals and they have already received my medicals.
