@CANZ

m goin to toronto as well.... ;) :) :D ;D :P

As far as pressure to the govt is concerned, family sponsorship pales in comparison to the amount of money the govt generates from tourism/student visas. Currently govt is losing $300+ million as a results of student/tourist visa backlogs, not sure if we can sustain that. Hopefully they will be forced to act sooner than later as the pressure mounts. But of course, they will complete family class applications based on the amount of backlog.

who told you this ??? and what is prioritys ?? There is cap of visas that are to be issued from each category during a specific period of time. So if PAFSO resumes work, the visas will be issued as per their work schedule .... They may issue more student visas but that doesn't mean that family class will be ignored...Don't spread unnecessary rumors in the forum..

nothing is gonna happen by signing any kind of petition, this strike will only have a resolution when both parties get back to negotiating and they come up with a fair deal which helps the government and the union

Pafso basically says this as per FB

======

PAFSO - APASE Thank you for your support and good wishes. As of Monday, only members designated essential and staff who are not part of PAFSO will be working in the Immigration sections mentioned in our statement. We are prepared to continue these and other measures as long as it takes for the employer to recognize the value of the services we provide and return to the negotiating table with a meaningful offer. If you think this should happen sooner rather than later please e-mail tony.clement@parl.gc.ca and let him know.
