I will take your word :)

My stats as of today: -

No of days since application received CIC-M - 157
No of days since sponsorship approval - 133
No of days since passport requested - 98

Normally it takes about 120 days post PPR for one to receive the passport back with PRV, so according to that you're way under time hence you should not be worried at all. It's people like me who received their PPR in march are the one's who have gone beyond the 120 days time limit and that's coz of the strike...

I'm on the same page as you. We know the slow downs are because of the strike. There has virtually been any COPR's given out in 6 weeks (2 in 2012 thread I think). So ordering GCMS notes will just be a waste. I want to wait until way after the strike is called off. Since they haven't been doing much work in that office the last 2 months, what will GCMS notes really tell us? We know the hold up is political and nothing to do with our files. Waste of $30 in my opinion.
I really believe once the strike is called off we will start seeing a lot of COPR's.

Exactly !!! It definitely is a waste of time, money and patience to order for GCMS notes now... I am confident coz my file is straightforward...this delay is definitely due to the strike or else I would've heard from them...

One question.........Any particular reason for your late medical tests ie after application was filed ?

My husband asked me to get it done post applying. Hence I went for it only when my husband was asked by CIC. Guess he took that decision based on the validity of the medical....since medical validity is 1 year...I'll be covered until late after I land in Toronto and I guess its a plus point if your medical is valid while one is travelling to Canada.

Quick question for you can_4visa. Your application filed date and your AOR date are the same?
I have sent my application on 29th March and received their mail on 2nd April.

Normally people do it before application...Also it is seen from 2012 applicants thread that if the processing is delayed then medical dates play important role for visa processing. NDVO usually grants visa before medical expire.

Well you sound confident and I am sure you will get the visa by next month

Ohk so I think your application file date in ur stats on the left should be 29th March instead of 2nd april.

You are right people do medical before filing application for fast processing. Now most of the 2012 applicants are getting Visa because their medical is expiring soon.

Well I do agree that if your medicals are about to expire then you do get an added advantage(ie if they've made up their mind to give you the visa) if not then one has to go through the trouble of re-medical....coz they won't allow you to enter canada unless until your medical is clear....

Btw I modified my msg after I posted it....here goes the modified msg....
