24 July 2013 - Statement by the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers: PAFSO Responds to Government's Conditional Acceptance of Arbitration

This morning, PAFSO sent a letter to the President of the Treasury Board. The correspondence addresses the conditions which the Government is seeking to attach to its acceptance of binding arbitration.

While we would have preferred to initiate the arbitration process without preconditions, PAFSO is committed to finding a reasonable and responsible way forward which will allow for a full and fair hearing of arguments from both sides – an objective we are sure the Government shares.

We await the Government's response. Until the conditions for arbitration are resolved, there will be no change in PAFSO’s job action measures.

PAFSO will update our members, the general public, and the media once we have more information to share.

I just posted the same press release. Seems we are on the same page in keeping everyone posted and up to date. Hoping for positive response from the gov't soon.

It seems this is going fairly fast!
It seems PAFSO is eager to end this...but have to wait for the process to get to the end :P

Thank you for the update EVERY ONE. Hope it resolved soon because the more they delay the more life and time is wasting.

People are waiting for there love one's to come and see them some people are dying and just want a glimpse of there love one's some want to start there new life. If this continues we will be dead and no decision will be made.

Allah won't forgive these guys and the pain the suffering we are having some one is going to curse them or there love one's "I HOPE NO ONE DOES IT" but the feelings from a broken heart will touch in Allah's hearing without any waiting.

I hear u..and share the pain. its shocking how these ppl dont give a damn about immigrants/taxpayers and their families!

Yes very true let's just hope and pray that things are resolved ASAP.

And you know, God would forgive anyone He wants to forgive.. we are unable to will, predict or judge what God will do..
Because you never know.. the person may feel regretful of his wrong doings in future and he could seek God's forgiveness upon which he can be forgiven. So, it really is not in our hands to say whether God will forgive or not :) Instead, the best we can do is just be neutral about people, and hope for the best to happen to us..without holding any hatred or grudge in our hearts over anyone..

Also, we don't know more than what we see in the media, so in reality we are unable to blame any specific person as such! :) What if we are thinking wrong about someone and in reality, that person is actually right.
Just as an example, there was a friend of mine who happened to be in the same cafe as me, and I didn't go meet her because I did not even see/notice her. But she thought I saw her and purposely didn't go meet her and she cut off relations with me..deleted me from her facebook..God knows how she must've thought wrong about me! IF she had just thought about my situation that MAYBE it was not my fault.. so always best to be neutral and not pass judgement...
just my two cents.. :)

Why we even expect anything from them..it is their country and they need us for low class labor jobs (85-90 %)..they know we will wait or do anything to com there because our own system is corrupt and std. of living is worst......very hard to make enough money in Canada if you have to spend and live in canada...EITHER WAY WE SUFFER IN THE MIDDLE....

No Canadian has to go through these kind of stupid long processes and yes oath at the time of citizenship.

I absolutly do not agree with you jk45. Nobody want us here to do low class labor jobs. In my company, which is owned by a canadian, 90% of jobs that require high skills like accounting, finance, IT, HR are occupied by immigrants from other countries and they all are earning so gud. It all depends upon your education and choice. People chose to go for labor jobs because either they are not educated or they want to earn lots of money quickly (offcourse labor jobs pay so well)
Canada is a wonderful place to live. Even in parliament, you will see all kind of people.
