I just have a question out of curiosity -
Some emails from NDVO are sent to us and signed by 'Immigration Officer' and at other times emails are sent and signed by the 'Immigration Section'.
What is the difference between "Immigration Officer" and "Immigration Section" ???

guys..sorry.im going slightly off the topic here..but have a quick question..

my wife's file indicates background check is still pending/in process..so how long can that take..any idea? We had submitted original PCC.....so they are still doing more background check?

that's how they work -- take ages - lol. And now since they r on strike they are kinda hardly working. So v need to b patient n keep waiting - happily. :)

To my knowledge, there is no fixed time... It could take any amount of time depending on how fast they are able to get clearance out of the background checks. Again, it also depends on the efficiency of Each and Every employee in the process.. that's why they give us that 10 month time frame saying it could take anything between 2 and 10months. This allows for delays in getting the checks cleared as well as delays caused by the employees themselves.
Someone please verify if there is a more appropriate answer.. :)

Hi Zormas,

Typically post PPR its suppose to take about 120 days for PRV(Whereas the whole process takes about 10 months once it reaches NDVO), but in the light of the current situation ie the strike n all nothing can be said unless PAFSO comes out with their official statement in public/news. Given below are the steps/process. Hope it helps and answers your questions. If not then ask.

The Process in a Nutshell:

Stage-1: [CIO stage] Send Initial Apps+Processing Fees to CIO-NS > Qualitative Check > Issue of AOR+120 days Letter >

Stage-2: [CHC stage onwards] Send Full Docs+RPRF to the Local Visa Office > File on Queue > e-Cas: "Received by Visa Office" > Eligibility Check+PSDEC > Issue of 2nd AOR > Background Check > Issue of Additional docs Request [if any] > 1st BF'D > e-Cas: "In Process" > Send Addnl. Docs > Issue of Med Request > 2nd BF'D >

Stage-3: Meds Sent > e-Cas: "Medical Results Recd." > Issue of PPR* > Send Passport/s > Security Check > Visa/s Stamped > e-Cas: "Decision Made" >
*The Meds & PPR are sometimes 'clubbed' together.

Stage-4: Return of 'Stamped' Passport/s+COPR > Landing at the POE > e-Cas: "Completed".

Mum_girl

Thank you mum_girl...hash1 ..and RD.for your quick response.!

I am assuming this is probably the last stage before DM but due to this f**** strike..we are all stuck!

anyways..im quite sure this will get resolved soon.

UPDATE: @PafsoApase sent a letter to Treasury Board this morning responding to conditions; now await gov't response. #cndpoli #dipstrike

PAFSO says it would have preferred to initiate arbitration process without preconditions; still committed to resolution. #cdnpoli #dipstrike

hi Himzz,
Hope all is wel with you!
Just a quick question abotu your DM - did you get an "EMAIL" from CIC new Delhi saying that they have sent your passport with visa stamping to your address??????
I am asking so that me and my hubby can also hope for the same...
please reply as soon as possible..thank you so mch!
I hope you and your family are having a great time together..

Answer to Hash1: No, I did not get any response from CIC after they I sent the passport to them.
I was checking my wife's status almost everyday and on 31 May the status changed to 'Decision Made'.
On the very next day on 1st June, I got the passport by registered speed post.

Thanks,
