I think everyone should ask their spouse's present in Canada to go and meet the MP of their area. This way you can put atleast some pressure on the govt. I am in Ottawa and I am going to MPs office tomorrow. We can do much more than just getting frustrated.

1st wait for the notes and see...makes no sense goin to mp so early...its just 2 months after sp...we need to have patience also....and its a fact now that the ndvo office is pretty empty and not many officers workin...just a few...giving visa with passport to ppl in 2012 whos medical is expiring.... which is fair coz they have been waiting over 10 months.....WAIT N WAIT N WAIT NOW...cant do anything....o man I need a HOLIDAY to destress

hi, do u have any idea about how long can i stay in my home country while the process is in-process? the answer is supposed to be NO, but if a sponsor can stay out of canada for about 1 month, i want to go home. every time my wife drops her tear, i feel more difficult. i feel suffocated. i cant stand this waiting

It is recommended that if the sponsor is PR of canada, he/she should stay in Canada.
But a short visit(2-3 weeks)to his home country should not be a problem.
Hope this helps.

The point of going to MPs office is not to expedite your visa process..but to try to put an end to this meaningless strike which will go on from the looks of it. You will be amazed how much pressure can be build if people like us start complaining to their respective MPs in Canada. Something is better than nothing....atleast its better than just sitting and crying everyday.

Hi i am Julia. My husband is a citizen of Canada. Our marriage was on January 2013. My application was received at Mississauga on May 16,2013. They transferred my file to New Delhi on June 10. I got an email from Delhi asking me to send my passport to Delhi. I had sent my old and new passports to Delhi on July 11. They received my passports at Delhi on July 15. Now there is a news about strike of Visa officers. So please let me know approximately when can i get my visa issued? I wanna go near my husband at the earliest. :(

Nope if a person is a PR in Canada and had filed application for spouse PR then he/she can visit at most for 15 days/2 weeks.

Congrats v_sys. Good luck to both of you.

Did your wife get a chance to ask about the strike to NDVO guy like are they working on other applications or not ?

without asking, he informed her tht because of strike they not sending passports by speed post and also because of strikes they are processing files of those whose medical is expiring in next few weeks or days... (we can interpret the way we want but this what he mentioned)
