DO I still have to apply for GCMS notes after receiving email from NDVO that they have received my application and is currently pending to review. If they have requested PPR they would have mention in my email right. I had send inquiry about my application in the month of APril..

I am January 2 2013 applicants waiting For PPR....

Yes it seems they are working on weekends; as I have seen few updates (DM and ecas updates) yesterday as well as today.

Its really disappointing...sometimes one really need to think illogically and provide everything what is not required also.

In my case i used to visit India for vacations, but still i provided a PCC from india..to avoid delays, just in case.

As UAE PCC is concerned and as u said she dint go back there, it would be really difficult to get the pcc done. U have two options either get it done from india but it wuld be very lengthy and very stressing..as u need to provide fingerprints with many stamps on it and follow really long procedure. Other option is, she visit abudhabi personally and get her pcc done..u get it within a week after applying. Call up abudhabi general police directorate, they can guide you.

Thanks to everyone who replied. We are going to start the painful procedure now of applying for the UAE PCC. For this we need to go to Delhi, get fingerprints done and attested by the Ministry of External Affairs, then get it attested from the UAE Embassy (which will take 2 days), and then send this along with the complete application to Dubai - most likely we will do this through a friend. More delays. :-(

Actually in IMM 3904, the requirement for PCC is mentioned like this: "Police certificates or clearances from each country in which you and every one in your family aged 18 years or older have resided for six months or more since reaching 18 years of age." At first glance I read this as having resided in a country for six months or more in one stay. After reaching 18, my wife was never in the UAE for more than 6 months at a time, but collectively considering all her vacation trips, yes she was there for more than 6 months. So even though we officially have not heard from NDVO yet, we are going to go ahead with the PCC.

About the notification for passport request, we both use gmail, so I'm pretty sure it would not have been marked as spam. The best thing to do right now is get in touch with NDVO and mention this. Is there anyone who has sent the passport to NDVO without getting the notification - is that advisable?

Thanks again all...

I really need help. I just read your post on that police certificate and this is making me freak out.
I explain our case. I'm canadian my husband indian. We met as we were both working on a cruise ship. Means that we traveled a lot mainly my husband. When he submit his application we only provide his police clearance from India as we also thought that it was only when staying 6 months in a single trip that we had to provide a police clearance. The other thing which make things complicated is that as a crew member we don't spend more than few days on land the remaining time being at sea. However the stamp in his passport has his entry and exit date from beginning to end of contract which means about 4-5 months each time. So do we really have to provide a police clearance from this or those country. The main port where our ship was attached to was in U.S.
Does anyone know anything about ship work? And how they are considering this when it comes to processing PR application? I read that asking for a U.S. police clearance takes 14-16 weeks is it true?
Hope anyone can help me with that matter as we are waiting already since January and I'm really worry that we might have a huge delay!
Thanks!
