When it shows in Process it means they will have started looking at the file and well.... processing it. ANd sometimes this doesn't happen for months after the PPR. When you do see it, it is a good sign. The NDVO asks for the passport way before most other VO's, and it is their process to have the passport on file. It does not mean they have started to process the file. But it is a good sign when you see it, though it could take anywhere from weeks to months for this to happen.
Hope this helps. :)

Thanks it did answer my question. I got my PPR on 9th March and based on what you said I still have a long time to wait until my PRV comes through.

The Process in a Nutshell:

Stage-1: [CIO stage] Send Initial Apps+Processing Fees to CIO-NS > Qualitative Check > Issue of AOR+120 days Letter >

Stage-2: [CHC stage onwards] Send Full Docs+RPRF to the Local Visa Office > File on Queue > e-Cas: "Received by Visa Office" > Eligibility Check+PSDEC > Issue of 2nd AOR > Background Check > Issue of Additional docs Request [if any] > 1st BF'D > e-Cas: "In Process" > Send Addnl. Docs > Issue of Med Request > 2nd BF'D >

Stage-3: Meds Sent > e-Cas: "Medical Results Recd." > Issue of PPR* > Send Passport/s > Security Check > Visa/s Stamped > e-Cas: "Decision Made" >
*The Meds & PPR are sometimes 'clubbed' together.

Stage-4: Return of 'Stamped' Passport/s+COPR > Landing at the POE > e-Cas: "Completed".

As I have got a travel history....will it take long for PPR? I was in UK for 7 years.....been to Canada and china once
If you have traveled then you should get your PPR sooner than the one's who don't have any travel history on their passport.

Coz for the one's who have travel history the security check takes months (2-3 months to get the passports back with the visa stamp) but for the one's who don't have it they get their PPR's at the last stage when they have already made their decision that means once you submit your passport you get it back within couple of weeks.

Hope this helps. If you still have questions about it then just ask.

Good luck with your application !!!

Thanks....Looks like its going to be a long and hard summer ahead lol

Any update dear? Your timeline is similar to me :(

I don't have any travel history. I don't understand what NDVO is doing. My status has not yet changed to 'IN PROCESS'

I wish my status from 'APPLICATION RECEIVED' change directly to 'DECISION MADE' soon :)

My timeline is similar to yours. You have applied around 10 days ahead of me. Even I got Passport request on 9th March and no update after that. Not sure how long does it take to process after file is transferred to New Delhi office. :|

thanks for the reply.....but i want to know that the new rules (5 yrs ban to sponsor second spouse) is affect me or not...i came here in canada in 2005 with my wife...for some reason we separate in 2007 and i came back to india and got devorce in 2010 in india...she is canadian citizan now and i m still PR...i got married again in 2013...so want to know that 5 yrs ban start from the devorce 2010 or 2005? thanks...

I think the bar of five years count from the day when you became PR of canada. In your case from 2005. In your case bar of five of year is not applicable coz its been more than five years since you are in Canada. Date of divorce is not counted for the purpose of spousal sponsor....

Have you tried using your wife's(principal applicant) application number along with her details as a combination?

Given below are the steps:-

Identification type: Immigration file number/application number(Choose this option)
Identification number: F********* (Enter the 10 digit number starting with F)
Surname/Family name: (Enter her Surname/Family name as entered on the application)
Date of birth: (Enter her date of birth)
Place of birth: (Place where she was born)

The point is that the combination should be correct, if any information is missing or incorrect then it doesn't work. Hope this helps. Do write back if you still have any questions. Good luck with your application.

Regards,

I will try and let u know...Ty

I have seen many lawyers who screws up the application. Whatever information you provide to CIC, that cannot be undone.
Better be careful before you do anything

Hi James, bhupi20 and VB20,

Anybody from you got PPR?
I am waiting for my PPR.
Or any email from ND? (not regarding PPR but any simple email)

Nothing dear....but let's see if tomorrow can bring some joy and happiness :)
