Here's something for all 2013 applicants ...

BF'D is an acronym for "Bring Forward Date" .. a mechanism Canadian Visa Offices uses to process visa applications (including spousal sponsorship)
Here's a small write up on the same. Do read this:-

I am a PR and applying for my wife's spousal PR.
Can any one confirm is her birth certificate is MANDATORY or if only school marksheets(5th 8th and 10th and 12th) will suffice?
she has a birth certificate but it is in HINDI.

and also, we will provide only Xerox of all supporting docs like birth certificate, school marksheets, passport, etc.
Please confirm.

Many thanks

It is clearly stated in third form ( region base, in your case New Delhi) that class X certificate can also serve as birth certificate..

Re: NEW DELHI - 2013 APPLICANTS. DRIVING LICENSE OF INDIA

I found this information useful from this website.. Hope it is worth reading..

That article is spot on

I can give all of you one important suggestion- learn to drive!! If you don't already know how to, learn ASAP and get your local license... That way you don't have to spend tons of money learning there. Instead, just a couple of classes to get used to the rules + different side of the road driving will suffice... It will also help you immensely to get mobile sooner... get your G1 (learners license-written exam) and then get your G2/G. (G=full license, G2=is the level between G1 and G- you must pass a driving test to go from G1 to G2 and then from G2 to G)

If you already have an Indian license that is atleast one year old then you can self declare 1 year experience and apply for the G2 straight away after passing the G1.. Once you pass the driving test and get your G2 you will be allowed to drive thereby making the city you move to a LOT more accessible!

If your Indian licence is more than 3 years old then you have 1 chance to apply for the G (full) license drive test directly. For this, you need to get a driving license extract from your local RTO and when you go to Canada, give this document (plus a copy of your Indin license) to the MTO (the equivalent of the RTO). They will then allow you to give the G test directly after passes the G1. IF you clear the driving test you get a full license; if you fail it you must apply for the G2 (without a waiting period).
The MTO website says you need a letter from your RTO giving proof that you've been driving etc but in m experience (since you cant get that from the RTO), the extract works perfectly well..

These rules apply for Ontario for sure as this is what I did and I got my G license in the 6 months I was there in Canada after my wedding... I'm sure the rules for most states are similar

Hi hm82,

Many congrats to you on your E-cas address update! Hope you receive your passport with the visa soon! :) God bless.

Since my timeline seems to be close to yours in the spreadsheet, I am hoping I will receive good news soon as well (fingers crossed). Just had a few questions for you. If you can address them, I will sincerely appreciate it.

1) Did you receive a call from CHC to verify your details as the applicant i.e. any cross-check calls? Or, did your spouse receive a similar call?
2) Did you have an interview or was it waived? How did the CHC inform you if your interview was waived? By call, letter or via email?
3) Did you send a Case Inquiry request to the CHC to inquire about the status of your case? If so, did the CHC get back to you?

Thanks in advance. And, once again, congrats on your good news and wish you Happy Landing soon! :)

Cheers,
LunarNymph

Neither I nor did my spouse receive any calls. I had a pretty strong application - spent about 2 months compiling the documents and polishing it, so I was quite sure that there wouldn't be any cross-check calls.

No intimation of an interview. As per my understanding, if there a requirement for an interview - it will either come with PPR or afterwards, but usually before your file goes to "In Process"

We did sent a case-specific inquiry to verify receipt of some documents. It was responded to in 4 weeks. The response wasn't very useful.

Not sure julyashar - My experience has been that once your file goes into the Visa Processing System , its pretty much a black box. So can't really say what's the case. Don't worry and DON'T EVER SPECULATE - its of no use. Generally speaking you can send case specific enquiries etc, but I am quite confident that sending albums is NOT SUCH A BIG DEAL !

Congrats.... ;D ;D ;D

also along with all filled application i am submitting
marriage invitation,
my boarding pass and visa(PR travel document), for both trips engagement and marriage
email conversations list,
phone bills for the whole period,
close to 100 loose photos of engagement, marriage,
my wife's new passport copy (with spouse name added)
originals of police clearance,
