First of all I would like to congratulate hm82...wish u a bright future in Canada

My case was transferred to New Delhi on 12 April.....how long will it take for ppr....just to let u know that I was in UK for 7 years before coming back to India.....I have also been to Canada as temp. Resident for couple of weeks in 2006....will they do background check on these visits before asking for my passport......thanks

u will get ppr in couple of weeks.they will surely need a police certificate from UK.if u already attached with ur application then donot worry.if donot then get fingerprinting clearance from UK.i donot know who will do it in UK. for USA its fbi and for canada its rcmp.for Canadian bc it depends on vo office.they treat each case differntly. good luck

If a person doesnt have a travel historyof foreign lands they ask for passport almost afrer they have made decision for ur application ask u to send ur passport n in 2 weeks u get ur passport back... They dont need passport if u have no history of foreign land... I think this is what i have understood n observed from the forums i read...

it depends like what they say in ppr request. that they need ur passport, pcc to start processing ur file.but in some cases they made a ppr request after the case go in process then it took less time to get ur passport back.

I have seen many people who don't know that they can actually ask CIC to send you all the details regarding their history with CIC since they first apply for any kind of visa at CIC

Please follow the following URLs provided by mickeyindia and you can ask for this at the cost of may be $5.00
This will provide you detailed history of all your files and the VO comments for anything

it is correct.but i strongly recommend donot make any enquiries or gcms notes if ur case is within time limit otherwise it will slow the process.thats my experience

it depends .just wait have patience.sometime they make ppr after ur case go in process which is very good sign that ur interview is waived.

I'm a newbie here... So just few Qns...
How was your passport sent back to you??? Was any intimation given by the NDVO to you prior to your receipt of your passport..
Just curious as my timeline looks more like yours...

It was sent by registered post. No, NDVO doesn't communicate anything for sending passport. Usually u just wait for DM status and then just wait for the Passport.

Yeh i also think the same. They just see how much genuine the case is. I wish i will get my passport with the visa stamp before his departure to Canada. He is going back end of May. I am very depressed now as i have not yet received any update

I am a PR and filing family class pr for my wife who is in India.

Her DOB on her birth certificate do not match to DOB in passport.
Then can we just skip the birth certificate and just put school certificates instead?

Also, no one is accompanying her to Canada. does she need to fill the following forms?: It is not clear is she still has to complete the forms for each of her family members even if they are accompanying her or not.:

Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM 0008DEP) - This form is completed by you, the principal applicant, if you have more than five (5) family members.

Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) - You and each of your family members 18 years of age or older must complete their own copy of this form.
Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) - You and each of your family members 18 years of age or over must complete their own copy of this form.Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM 0008DEP) - This form is completed by you, the principal applicant, if you have more than five (5) family members.

Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) - You and each of your family members 18 years of age or older must complete their own copy of this form.

birth certificate is mandatory.please make the necessary corrections otherwise it will slow down ur process.they gonna ask ask for it with ppr

My wife applied for our spouse visa on 13 march 2013.....application received on 19 march 2013 and she's been approved as sponsor on 12 April 2013.....been told that case has been transferred to New Delhi....any idea about how long will it take now?

Even sometimes,I do have the same feeling but if his application is approved. He might update here. I think he is struck in some family problem.

You know what James, I used to check the ECAS after every 5 minutes in a day. My hubby is also fed up with me lolz.

Still not any update

I wish next week we all will have lots of updates ..till then keep fingers crossed and hope for the best.
