Is anybody know, how long it takes to get the passport request from New Delhi ? And I also heard they keep our original passport through out process ?

Our sponsorship approval was done on July 16 and now we are leaving for Europe. We received our residence permit.

Some have it as long as 8-9 months

This will never happen then. I have to travel to europe in Oct for 1 yr.

ppl have been waiting since 2012 ....they keep passports with them from 2-10 months....guess u will have to wait till the time u don't get your passport back

It is recommended but not mandatory to send your passport right now... you can send a mail to NDVO and tell them that once the decision is made, you will send the passport as you may need to travel to Europe for your business in coming days... so request them to send passport request at the end, once the decision is made and tell them that you can not afford to let them hold your passport for long time.

You are right.

Money comes first.

I'm back again,


I know all my friends are in same situation, except Myrah7 anyway congratulations.
Guys, I'm in to social networking stuff and I feel like it's in my blood to go into depth of almost everything, it's actually upsetting me that I don't have much time to work in these kind of issue's since I'm busy in other aspects.
Now friends let me come to the point. The strike issue is no more just a issue it's a burning issue, if you go through the video which I have posted http://www.cbc.ca/player/News/Politics/ID/2397380808/ you'll realize the impact of Strike on Canadian Economy & these wage issue's with the Government will be solved soon as per them, according to Amanda, Jerry both they mentioned there is huge Loss in Tourism & loss in careers of students.

Guys there are a huge possibility that the strike will be calling off soon this coming week or the next. And there will be one more possibilities that these foreign employees who work in VISA office will process visa in the fastest Record time.

for the past 2-3 weeks whatever I have mentioned in my comments were 100% correct, let's hope for the best, because when it's coming to Strike, I also count myself in the crowd, because I'm also waiting to meet my wife who's waiting for me on that side

You can request to send passport at the end stage however that will delay the process, this is from the horses mouth ( ND's reply to something similar I had asked them )

If the applicant or dependents are currently outside of India, or have upcoming or frequent travel outside of India, they are not required to submit passports at this time. However, if they are not submitting their passport with the other items requested, they or their authorized representative must submit a letter explaining why they are unable to submit their passport. When the processing of the application has reached the final review stage, we will send a second request letter. Once the applicant receives this letter, they must submit their passport by the date specified, failing which the application may be refused.

Please note that waiting for a second passport request will delay the completion of processing of the applicatio
