Hello dear.. I am also in the same boat.. I am sept applicant same case as urs.. I am a canadian PR and i sponsored my husband .. Mu parents were also not present.. I am scared too.. applied notes 2 times but no interview recommended yet.. However, i did provide all the proofs as we were in a long distance relationship fron 2009.. And I also did attach a separate letter stating all the circumstances.. That how we tried to convince the parents and everything... And abt the marriage... All the emails.. Call records.. Gift receipts .. So I guess if u have provided enough proofs u shouldn't be scared.. But reading the posts here.. We can't predict anything with NDVO.. Wish u luck dear..

no not all but most of them..I m also from Punjab but my MP didn't said dat my file sent to Chandigarh embassy. ..maybe when they issue ur visa and call u to collect passport from Chandigarh embassy's...

parents not being present at the time of wedding is not necessarily a red flag...if you provided documents to prove that relationship is genuine, you should be ok...at the time of interview, problem occurs when visa officer with his old fashioned traditional views does not give a chance to explain the circumstances of parents not being present and show documents to prove that relationship is genuine..there are cases like yours in this forum who were not asked to appear for interview and visa office granted visas without questions...

yeah.. I know..thats why I provided all the proofs as much as I could.. but you knw how it is with NDVO... till now I don't have sign of interview anywhere... but NDVO being so unpredictable.. scares u..

Ya thats right but the mistake with us is we haven't mentioned that my parents were not present in the wedding. We just said they were against and agreed gradually. though we have presented enough proves and we stayed together for 2 years too... and then applied... No fraud case apply after 2 years for sure. But please pray things go fine with me.

How long does it take to get passport ones passport is dispatch to VFS??????

I am. I got my passport last week. Keep checking the login info given to you by VFS. Once New Delhi dispatches your passport and the VFS office receives it, the online status changes to 'ready for collection'. You can receive your passport any day after your status changes. THey give out passports from 2pm-4pm. If you are sending someone else to collect your passport on your behalf, make sure you give them your original citizenship, but if you go, please take any identification document/photocopy of your passport. Hope this helps.
