got the call from NDVO and confirm dob and address....
Now its DM on my ecase....
I applied on 13 Aug 2013 and passport request on 23 September...

I have a question ... My file is in new delhi and i already got pcc and RPRF submission letter . I am jan 06 ,2014 applicant. I am 27 weeks pregnant .. Somebody told me that i can apply for visitor visa for my husband while his file is in new delhi for my delivery .
1. What do i need to apply?
2. What r the chances of getting a visitor visa . He studied from australia and came back after 4 yrs ... Does this thing make difference?
3. Should i apply visa at my own or by a lawyer? Lawyer is demanding 2000$ to apply...

Hello Ji,

I'm fairly new to the forums but have spent substantial time reading the posts in this thread and my conclusion to your answers would be:

1. Anyone with existing Indian passport can apply for Canadian VISA
2. 5%. Very rare that people are given visitor VISA's although there is a poster on here who recently claimed his/her spouse got a visitor VISA.
3. Lawyers are scum of the earth and rip people off. Save the money, buy your time, and your spouse will be here soon....The # of applications in September/October are quite fewer than July August. Most people have been getting VISAs roughly 8-9 months despite the 13 month timeline. Safe to assume the timeline should shrink with fewer applications in the Fall of 2013. Your spouse should get VISA in September or hopefully sooner.

My wife's application has been in the "In Process" stage since December 2013. I think it means nothing so don't get your hopes up that high. Sometimes I wonder if anyone is even working in that office over there.

Don't pay any lawyer , it's very simple procedure and application for visitor visa . You have a strong reason and if you have good cra tax returns or finances , you should definitely apply . It's doesn't effect his PR application even if he is refused . You are not loosing anything , and if he does get his visa then you have a win win situation .
