Hi Guys

A lot has happened since my last post.

My PR applicant wife got a TRV so she has moved in with me in Toronto.

She has now received her PPR, does this mean their is no requirement for an Interview? If required to interview we'll be in a fix because she is on a single entry TRV and we'd prefer not to go through another visa application for multiple entry.

Anybody knows whats next after PPR? We have submitted medical, pcc, paid fees with the application. (applied 25th Nov'13 , file moved 22nd Dec 2013 , PPR received 20th Jan 2014)

I m not a pro, but if she gets interview how will she travel to india, if you send the passport, she will have to go back to india to submit the passport or request for later submission or just wait for 2nd ppr,once file goes in process no interview required, at this time you cant say if you will get interview or not.and for nov applicant it will be sometimes in jul aug hopefully, at the moment they are working on may-jun applicants and clearing backlogs. I hope this helps seniors please jump in .

Since you got PPR it doesn't mean that interview is waived, it means you are one step ahead in your process! and since you have received a passport request its better she travel back to India and send the passport. If you are sending the passport now and if she gets an in person interview call (Hopefully not) then there is no way she can travel back to India without a passport and it might create unnecessary delays in your processing. And I don't think NDVO can do phone interviews. If someone is called for an interview then they have to attend interview in person !
If you need confirmation then call CIC or send an email to NDVO.

Next step after PPR is a Waiting Game

Hello friends
Just had interview in New Delhi today. It went for about 20 minutes. The visa was provided within an hour after the interview. The lady (British descent) who took interview was so respectful and professional. Entirely a delightful conversation not the dialogue of the deaf I must say. ...so guys who are scheduled for the interview. Pls don't panic, it just expedites the process so has happened in my case. Thanks a lot to Myrah n Magessss for their kind heart n helping nature ..May god always be with you beautiful peeps! Will fly back to Nepal tomorrow pm ..keep smiling cheers!!

Congratulations!! This is indeed really good news that you got your visa on passport right away. Can I ask why you were having the interview in the first place, as in, what were the red flags in your case? What questions did they ask you?

My medical was expired in Dec 2013. My Lawyer said to do re-medical, but I didn't get any request. Can someone please answer if we can do re-medical without any request. Is it appropriate. Please answer

I think you can go ahead and do it but lets do an MP enquiry first and ask about your file and medicals already expired. They should extend your medicals. Have you applied for GCMS notes again?

My application was filed on Oct 3 and i got passport request on Dec 2 but i could give the passport only on January 23 due to work commitments. I received an email last week from the delhi office in reply to my inquiry confirming that they have received my passport.
I have already sent all the necessary documents (police clearance certificates, medical etc). I have applied under my wife's sponsorship and intend to travel with her in July when she makes a trip here to India. do you think i have any chance of getting the pr by July so that i can travel back along with her.

You might be lucky and get your visa in July but it can take more than 12 months of waiting too.

I did apply for GCMS, everything is done except security and background, and it says medical have expired. I did contact MP and all they did is to check the status.

Hello Guys,
One of my friend, his case was filed in the month of June 2013. His visa was issued on 5 February and he got his passport on 18 Feb. He even told me his other relative had applied too at the same month and he got visa too.
Wishing you all many many congratulations and happy married life ahead those got their visas and flown to Canada. I am praying for all those are still waiting. I hope by the end of this month they all will get some positive news......

Well then, congrats to the both of them! I sincerely hope that we all get our visas soon too and it is happy news that NDVO is working nonstop to clear the backlogs even if it doesn't seem like it on some days.

I m in the same boat.. Me & my hubby are PR holders but due to certain constraints I had to be here in India for pregnancy & delivery. But in India timelines for PR even for infants is the same as spouse & others. (Although in all other countries it is faster) So waiting for baby's visa for past 7months & been away from hubby for almost 2yrs now. This is another con that u wud need to consider before taking decision. The strike which took place in Canadian embassy for 6 months has delayed things for everyone as earlier the timelines for getting PR under family sponsorship was faster.

Oh.. this is so unfortunate that you all are living apart and your husband can't enjoy watching your daughter grow up and the milestones she takes.
It really doesn't make sense to keep you waiting this long especially when their motto is to reunite families together soon. Surely, they must be working on your application.
Hope your little ray of sunshine gets her PR soon.

Congrats on getting your wife with you on TRV. Do not submit your PPR but email NDVO and ask for a 2 ppr at a later date. This is because you don't know how long your file processing will take and if the 6 months TRV cannot be extended or if your wife gets called for an interview, she will be stuck. You wife can go back to India after 6 months and submit her passport then.
