If you are bored, you can inquire from CSIS if they have received any request from CIC for Security. I did it for my folks, although they did recieve it in 2007 for visitor ext, they never did for sponsorship issues but it does give you a clue if SEC/CRIM part is over

Definitely number IPs are so low this year yet. Even couple of them are forced ups like after interview. The theory that once the current IP lot becomes small, there should be more IPs is standing on its last leg. Let us see what happens this week.

However, I believe enquiring if CSIS received a request or not is way overboard for spousal applicants. If the file is stuck for more than year, maybe then. Otherwise, this is going to slow CSIS very unnecessarily. For spousal, I don't think CSIS is always involved. Just my opinion anyway.

Well, they did give a lot of IPs in December that they had to change to DM in January. But they should definitely start giving out more too, and I am sure that it will be this week!
