they said it would take 10 days fr them to send the pp fr the other forum member who gt call today...if it takes 10 days fr them to send pp to an area near Delhi,i wonder hw long ll they take to mail it to chennai!!!!

I cant believe it...they actually said that i will take 10 days to get the pp delivered in delhi..what a shame

let's open NDVO's rules book and see : to mail anywhere in India we have a standard operating procedure - take an eternity to mail..according to section 3 (idiots) (2) passport holder should not be informed ahead when the passport is mailed. A phone call about passport being mailed is not an option. It will be grounds for dismissal. Passport holder should not have a life. If we tell him/her via email or phone after mailing passport, then there is no fun.

Some consulates have outsourced the task of mailing passport and it works charmingly. VFS would call the passport holders informing them ahead about passports being mailed or come and collect it. Not CHC.

Registered post as In speed post or normal post?
I live in solapur (maharashtra). How long will it typically take to get back the passport?
The issue is we are not staying at the address given in application, we go to Old house for sometime in a day. I am just worried that we don't miss postman.
And I don't think that these postmans call if u r not there unlike blue dart etc.

Normal post i suppose.. The one our normal postman delivers

No I dint order notes but did two mp enquiries and was told that file is awaiting final review

Do you mean NDVO called you today twice. did you talk to them, what was the call about ?

Today 2 different Applicant got a call from NDVO which said "how do you want to receive a passport In person or by Post"

and What I'm seeing Your status is IP and you still waiting for passport request did you applied for notes?

I think it is by registered post (people who got their shiny visas can confirm?) and if the passport holder is not there and post person knows the family very well then he/she might give it other family member. If not, ask sponsored person to give authorization for someone who will be there to collect passport on his/her behalf. Or just grease the monkey..corruption works well in India (hopefully my buddy Arvind Kejerwal is not reading this and make me wear that hat as a punishment)

The address which in mention in your application Is anybody staying there means is that house is open else talk with your postman to handover courier to your neighbour if you can trust... and usually any post use to stay in local post office for around 7 days then after they send back to from address.

they make three attempts and it is in local postal office....

put your postal code and find your MP..call his/her office make appointment to meet..if unable too busy tell him/her if you can email the particulars..they would want consent form from you and sponsored person to investigate on your behalf..be persistent even if they say you are within your normal processing times come back after processing time...
