UREGENT -
Hi am Raasmi, who is trying to sponsor my husband from outland process.
Hey Raasmi, I'm not an expert. So please try to look for other answers too.
We had 2 questions which we need an urgent answer from you please.
1. He holds a work permit from his company waiting to get a date to travel here since 2 months, so we thought of applying for the family sponsorship and now if we apply from outland and if he asked from his company to travel during the time after it is been approved and before we send teh passport,
a. Will there be a problem to his process.
From what I understand, you want to apply for family sponsorship (outland) even though he has his work permit.
If he has his work permit and comes here, you can apply for family sponsorship (inland - takes around 8-14 months).
In my opinion, since he will be working that might be a better option to do by inland.
Though you guys have to wait for extra few months than the outland (6-10 months), you can stay together in Canada.
I would prefer Inland process, If I had that option.
b. Do we need ot chnage and re-apply again his sponsorship because he travelled here.
In outland process, after the sponsorship approval your husband will be asked to send his passport to Canadian Consulate in Delhi.
This will happen roughly 1-3 months after the application. In my case, the passport was requested in ~50 days.
So if your husband is already here in Canada, that would be a challenge. I've been told by few people that you can send a request saying that you'll send the passport at a later stage. But when that stage comes (say 4-6 months) then your husband has to travel back to India to send the passport to Delhi (it seems you can't send the passport by Courier from Canada to India). With this scenario, if he's gonna come to Canada, applying inland might be a better option. Again, it's just my opinion.
2. Another important question is should we get the medicals done before and submit teh medical copy along with the others documents?
Sending medicals and PCC along with the application seems to help. looking at various applicant's success rate. When you wait till the end of the process to be asked for medicals, that would add delay.
a. As far as I know they will not hand over the medical copy to anyone instead they send it directly to the consulate or the mentioned given address on our approval form.
They will give you a copy of the medical so that you can attach it along with your application.
Then they will send the original report and x-ray etc to the consulate directly.
Please advice if we can/have to get the meical done before hand of submission and should we send it to any particular address or will the medical centers send it directly to the address we provide, if so to which address we need to ask them to send it please.
Like mentioned, medical center will send the report. you don't have to worry. You have to just get a copy of that form.
If it's CIC approved medical center, they will know the address they'll have to send the reports to.
If you want more info, search about the medicals in CIC website
Thanks in advance and apprciate your quick answer.!!
I'm just posting some info, since you mentioned that it's urgent.
Please try to get answers from others too! Good luck!
