the CIC guy said that during the strike they are processing all those cases whose medical is expiring in august or july end, and if it would have been normal working scenario then even my wife's file would have gone to re-medical, those are his words... and what about your medical, has it expires or will it be expiring soon... and yes to your point i used to feel the same when i saw people who applied way after me started getting visa... it was killing... and the most important thing, though we received the call, i only want to really celebrate once we have the passport in hand ...
wish you a very best of luck .. i know your situation because i have been in there and i guess i am still there
What about people who resubmitted PCC and medical around April 2013..... It is Year and few months now....... Are they going wait till expires or about to expires again.......

Firs of all Many many congratulations to you Ammuknn,

and you are bang on right on one thing ,,, and so here i go, let me share my good news too....

my wife did get a call around 3 pm of India time today (12th july), i think it is about the same time as of yours.... and the call was almost identical as you described, with discussion items such as, .... in ref to your medical expiring on 6 august,,,, can you travel before that.... i am issuing you a visa .... however there is one small thing pending which will be done in few hours today or by monday..... you will receive another call from our team to give you the details of how to and when to collect passport from new delhi office....

there are few things which were little catchy and good... the person on the phone from CIC said, we could send you the passport by speed post but just because of strike we are not able to do that process because of lack of man power and when my wife said plz dont make it too late so that i have only one day to prepare and leave india before medical expire date comes, the CIC guy said, why dont you pack your bags and come to delhi , pick up your passport and take a flight from here to new delhi... (all that last discussion was in a lighter sense from both the end, that was funny and some what supportive , i think)

so now waiting for a next call sometime in next week... and yes to everyone who may receive such call, please do say promptly and firmly reply two things , one is that you can travel ASAP before your medical expire, that you are ready, and second is you have absolutely no problem picking up your passport, , , my wife did say about speed post but they insisted that she should come personally and that it will be faster...

Hey.....v_sys congrattttttsssss to you also wish you all the best.. I hope I also get this miracle call frm NDVO for my hubby...

dear friend, I certainly have no idea, and you know better than anyone else, (since you have been waiting for long) that there are no rules here, and there is no transperncy as to why this random processing and why some people gets so fast and why it takes so long in some cases....

I hope you already considered options such as GCMS and MP inquiry, I did MP inquiry 10 days back and I think there is some connection that I got a call yesterday....(atleast I like to think this way :) )

wish you all the very best...

I am an August 2012 applicant and now my pp is expiring in next four months which is sitting in the NDVO since last Nov 2012. Does anybody know, what happens if I ask NDVO to return my passport? does this mean I am withdrawing my application by withdrawing pp? Or once I renew my pp can I resubmit my pp with the current application in continuation?

Another question: Does anyone know if it is a requirement by CIC to have at least 6 months time validity left at the time of PR stamping? I had send my application when I had 14 months on pp and now four months are left. If you could provide any cic guideline or online link that supports this thought that we need at least 6 months of passport time left on the pp, it would be wonderful.

Thanks,

After the PP request , when they give the PP back to you with the spousal PR visa.

Is the spousal PR visa stamped or stickered inside the PP or something.

Do they also give you a landing paper or something with it ?

When I came to Canada on my own a few years back as a Landed immigrant , nothing was put inside my Indian PP.

I got the landing paper ( Record of landing ) and my Indian PP..which I used to land as an immigrant.

Is it the same for sponsored spousal PR visa ? They give your spouse the PP back and the landing paper , or do they actually stamp or sticker the spousal PR visa inside the PP ?

PR i.e Permanent Resident.

Congrats to everyone who got the visa.Well deserved.
I have a question. Is it possible to send some more picturs to NDVO? I did court marriage and did not send much pictures. My MP told me she will be called for interview but i don't know when. I applied in Sept 2012.
I did went back once to India and took lots of picture. Should i send those pictures?

Congrats ammuknn & v_sys..... That's a wonderful news.... I was jst hoping that to happen with you two..... superb news friends!! Well I am yet to receive my pp back but I checked yesterday that my ecas status changed to decision made....

@nd4patel... pls don't follow ur consultants advice blindly. do apply for gcms immediately without any further delay...

@sept24..... dear I am sure that ur turn is next.... just don't worry.

First of all congratulations to all the guys you got their visas. Secondly is there any December applicants here who are still waiting for their visa ?

@Gurinder sangha

I am..................... and still waiting for visa to be stamped on my passport.
Can't believe (2013) applicants already receiving the visa's where (2012) applicants are still waiting for it. Plus they are on idiotic strike without any reason.

Thanks!

They asked me to redo the medical because my medical expired in May.

Well my question to these people would be why didnt they process the visas in April May of people who's medicals expired in May and June? What did we do to them?

This is beyond ridiculous. So now the medical decides who deserves to be reunited with their spouse? I've been waiting here since October 2012 when I submitted my passport. I have been in process since October.

I'm happy for people like you when they get good news because I like to think of it as they will now start working on my file. But it seems like NDVO has some other plans.

Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm just frustrated.

In our case, the sponsor (Canadian citizen) stays out of Canada with her husband. Her parents and siblings live in Canada and she maintains full link with Canada. We have submitted the pp of the applicant to ndvo recently and our medical is expiring soon in Sept, 2013.

Can the sponsor contact MP from abroad? Does anyone know how to do it?

Thanks in advance!

I have the same story we applied in september and submitted passport in march.. now the passport is expiring end of october, and have not heard anything from ndvo. i consulted with mp who said that at some point i would have to ask for pp back to get it renewed, but do not ask for it just yet because with passport they initiate background checks. the mp advised that in april.. its now july and she does not have an update for me because of the strike.. no one knows what is going on :( last time i talked to the mp my background was not started. . and still do not have any idea what is going to happen when the pp expires ! \

thanks nabagataa i m keeping my fingers crossed but there are complications like the pp expiring.. !

to all who have got their visas, congratulations!!

I think we all know the answer to that is that WE DONT KNOW what these guys up to.... however I can certainly say something about my case,,, I think in my case two things helped, MP's inquiry which I did two times with the help of two different MP and every time MP made an inquiry there was a movement in my file.... and GCMS notes... but at the same time we all know its all very random and there is no reason known to us why such delays....

Thanks,

I have an answer for second question, in my own case when I came to this country my passport was expiring just within 3 - 4 months of PR stamps (that's what I remember, as I don't have any of those passports now) and there are no such fix rules, I believe its decided on case to case basis...but one thing always helps is keep on writing them such deadlines and any such issues.
