Hey congrats that's great news, your wife will get Passport soon. Good luck.

My wife got a call an hour ago from NDVO. It was the same kinda thing as nabagataa.
First the man asked confirmation questions - her name, date of birth, husband's name, wedding date.
Then they said that our case is looking good, almost everything is done. He said her medical expires on August 1st (this is what it said in our GCMS notes too, so we knew that) and that she needs to travel to Canada before that. He asked how soon would she be able to come to New Delhi to pick up her passport. She said, "You just tell me the day and time, and I will come for it!" The guy laughed at that. Then he said that there's just a bit more left in the PCC and security checking... but that might take anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days; he will call back, maybe within 2 hours, or by early next week. He said she can go ahead and make plans to travel to Canada already - just block the tickets, don't book it yet, so that she doesn't get cancellation charges.
My wife said she was literally shaking with excitement, and getting goosebumps all over. She was at work, and all her colleagues and friends stopped their work and were hanging out with her, sharing our joy!
Oh, one other thing... my wife suggested that our consul.tant agents (W.W.I.C.S) have an office in Delhi - can they pick up the passport? The man on the phone got angry at their name. He said you should not have used those agents, they are crappy! The PPR was sent to us through their email back in March, and because of their incompetence, we didn't receive it. If that had not happened, we would have gotten the visa much sooner.
v_sys,
you are next. nabagataa's story gave me hope, and the same thing happened to me too. You are in the same situation, and your medical expiry is only 4 days after mine. Expect a call by next week!!
n4dpatel,
You should have applied for GCMS notes long ago. When is your medical expiring? If it is expiring in a month or less, I'm afraid it's probably too late to do anything about it now. If it's in around 2 months, at least apply for GCMS notes ASAP, so that you can find out what's going on in your case. It is most likely the same thing as nabagataa and me, where they sent PPR and you didn't receive it. In that case, send your passport ASAP. With this strike going on, don't expect them to communicate with you on little things - see with nabagataa and me, they never did. Without your passport, NDVO can't do anything. And if your medical expires, it will easily add another 2 months to your case. Just some friendly advice, based on recent events. If you want to just sit and wait, as per your lawyer's advice, then that's your call.
