Hey congrats that's great news, your wife will get Passport soon. Good luck.

I have some great news to share with you guys!

My wife got a call an hour ago from NDVO. It was the same kinda thing as nabagataa.
First the man asked confirmation questions - her name, date of birth, husband's name, wedding date.
Then they said that our case is looking good, almost everything is done. He said her medical expires on August 1st (this is what it said in our GCMS notes too, so we knew that) and that she needs to travel to Canada before that. He asked how soon would she be able to come to New Delhi to pick up her passport. She said, "You just tell me the day and time, and I will come for it!" The guy laughed at that. Then he said that there's just a bit more left in the PCC and security checking... but that might take anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days; he will call back, maybe within 2 hours, or by early next week. He said she can go ahead and make plans to travel to Canada already - just block the tickets, don't book it yet, so that she doesn't get cancellation charges.

My wife said she was literally shaking with excitement, and getting goosebumps all over. She was at work, and all her colleagues and friends stopped their work and were hanging out with her, sharing our joy!

Oh, one other thing... my wife suggested that our consul.tant agents (W.W.I.C.S) have an office in Delhi - can they pick up the passport? The man on the phone got angry at their name. He said you should not have used those agents, they are crappy! The PPR was sent to us through their email back in March, and because of their incompetence, we didn't receive it. If that had not happened, we would have gotten the visa much sooner.

v_sys,
you are next. nabagataa's story gave me hope, and the same thing happened to me too. You are in the same situation, and your medical expiry is only 4 days after mine. Expect a call by next week!! :)

n4dpatel,
You should have applied for GCMS notes long ago. When is your medical expiring? If it is expiring in a month or less, I'm afraid it's probably too late to do anything about it now. If it's in around 2 months, at least apply for GCMS notes ASAP, so that you can find out what's going on in your case. It is most likely the same thing as nabagataa and me, where they sent PPR and you didn't receive it. In that case, send your passport ASAP. With this strike going on, don't expect them to communicate with you on little things - see with nabagataa and me, they never did. Without your passport, NDVO can't do anything. And if your medical expires, it will easily add another 2 months to your case. Just some friendly advice, based on recent events. If you want to just sit and wait, as per your lawyer's advice, then that's your call.

Firs of all Many many congratulations to you Ammuknn,

and you are bang on right on one thing ,,, and so here i go, let me share my good news too....

my wife did get a call around 3 pm of India time today (12th july), i think it is about the same time as of yours.... and the call was almost identical as you described, with discussion items such as, .... in ref to your medical expiring on 6 august,,,, can you travel before that.... i am issuing you a visa .... however there is one small thing pending which will be done in few hours today or by monday..... you will receive another call from our team to give you the details of how to and when to collect passport from new delhi office....

there are few things which were little catchy and good... the person on the phone from CIC said, we could send you the passport by speed post but just because of strike we are not able to do that process because of lack of man power and when my wife said plz dont make it too late so that i have only one day to prepare and leave india before medical expire date comes, the CIC guy said, why dont you pack your bags and come to delhi , pick up your passport and take a flight from here to new delhi... (all that last discussion was in a lighter sense from both the end, that was funny and some what supportive , i think)

so now waiting for a next call sometime in next week... and yes to everyone who may receive such call, please do say promptly and firmly reply two things , one is that you can travel ASAP before your medical expire, that you are ready, and second is you have absolutely no problem picking up your passport, , , my wife did say about speed post but they insisted that she should come personally and that it will be faster...

I was wondering about the medicals..just out of curiosity...this is for India ( New Delhi ) ..outland.

i am not an applicant yet , but will be doing the application in a few months .

After the medicals are done in India for your spouse , I am assuming the panel doctor sends the report to the embassy directly and gives your a spouse a receipt as a proof that the medical was done ? am I right ?

Is this just a receipt or some kind of special form with your spouse's photo etc on it ?

Now when you send your spousal application you are supposed to include the medicals ? am I right ?

So do you include the ORIGINAL of this medical recipt or just a photocopy with your application ?

TIA

It's really great to hear this. But I'm just wondering when the hell are they going to finish up the people who applied in April, May, June 2012!

It's been over a year for us!

It's really great to hear this. But I'm just wondering when the hell are they going to finish up the people who applied in April, May, June 2012!

It's been over a year for us!
the CIC guy said that during the strike they are processing all those cases whose medical is expiring in august or july end, and if it would have been normal working scenario then even my wife's file would have gone to re-medical, those are his words... and what about your medical, has it expires or will it be expiring soon... and yes to your point i used to feel the same when i saw people who applied way after me started getting visa... it was killing... and the most important thing, though we received the call, i only want to really celebrate once we have the passport in hand ...
wish you a very best of luck .. i know your situation because i have been in there and i guess i am still there

hey , they give a receipt and yes u have to send original one 1
Thanks :)

So I should ask my spouse to send ( courier ) the original medical receipt to me ASAP as soon as her medical is done in India, so that I can include that ( original ) in my application.

I was just planning to send a scanned copy or photocopy of the medical receipt and the original police clearance certificate. bcoz I saw them mention original PCC , but didn't see original Medical Receipt mentioned ( maybe I missed it )..hence I assumed they need only a photo copy of the Medical Receipt for confirmation , that the medical was done.

I was afraid that if the original medical receipt is lost while I am sending it to them , I will be in trouble..hence I was planning to send a photocopy.

Its weird they need photocopies of other documents like marriage certificate , PP etc , but need the original medical receipt , even thouh the doctor sends the medical report to them directly
