Hey veterans of this site,

Been reading all the posts, and it sounds like after the sponsorship approval, when the file is sent to NDVO, the NDVO issues an "Acknowledgement of Receipt."

Is this true for everyone here? The last correspondence I got was dated November 14, 2012, and it said that I have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor and the application for PR for my wife has been forwarded to NDVO.
But when my MP put in a query a few months ago, NDVO told her that, "This application was received at our office on 07Dec12 and is currently awaiting initial review."

Shouldn't I have received an AOR for Dec 07, 2012? But I didn't, nor any other communication since sponsorship approval. Is there a good chance that they've been sending communication to a wrong address or something?

Normally NDVO wont send any separate AOR. Mostly PPR or any doc request will be the first communication from them.

-You can take your marriage certificates, educational and experiences docs for your job purposes.
-Immigration officer at PoE normally will not ask you much more things, Just sign the CoPR.That's it!
-Two CoPR means one copy will be kept by Immigration officer at PoE after signing and second one will be given to you. . There is no need of this doc for any future travelling purpose .But it is better to keep because Once lost will not re issue again!I have heard that in future, in some cases for proving the first landing date in Canada, this doc may be needed.
-While you travel docs should be kept in handbag not in luggage

Hi guys ..got to know from area MP that visa has been issued in our case.They will mail the passport soon.But e cas doesnt show decision made.Dont know how to react???

I submitted my passport in March 11,2013.

I heard new delhi is allowed to hold our passport for 4 month max now..Is that true???

One of my neighbour is sponsoring his wife from India.


He said they are taking 2 to 4 month for stamped visa these days after submitting passport..

Yes! it's very important to change the address.. Make sure you keep your file number or UCI# number in hand.
You can change the address by following web address: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=coa or call the following telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100 and they are open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST.

Even address change is not thr in my ecas... Hope it should be done within 2-3 days... let me know if u get address change on ur ecas....

Hey Oct12, the address change showed up today. Only shows the city, province and Canada though.
